My fiancee ia from VietNam. Note that NVC letter has the word " Return Service Request on the envelope which means they dont forward mail ( they might forward ). However, the NVC letter is just letting you know that they will forward your case to Embassy within 1 week and the case number is on that letter too. So, that letter is not really important and you dont use that letter anywhere. You can call NVC to obtain the case number at anytime.

Oh yes! I hope everything will be okey to us and we will go through of problems :D

And yesterday, I send an email to NVC then they just send me an auto response. So I don't know my case number yet! So maybe right now, I need to look forward my fiance call NVC or get NVC letter.

Good luck to your case! Hope you would be with your fiancee soon!

Hi everyone,

Last night, my fiancé got an email from USCIS tell us that shipped our case to Department of State for visa processing on Nov 7th 2013!

So should my fiancé call the NVC to tell them that our address is changed now even we don't get the case number yet???? Or let wait for a few month to call them to ask case number and then tell them about address changed?

I am just worrying if wait more, they may mail to us about case number already and not sure my fiancé could get this mail or not even he used the mail service to tell that his address already!

Please help me out! I am really tired about it now! :( that's bad a lot because we don't know what things we should do right now!

Thank you for your help so much!

NVC won't change address for you if they don't have your case file or you don't have your case number. Note that your file will stay at NVC for couple days then it will ship to Embassy. I would start calling DOS around 11/14 beyond to obtain the case number. However, I heard it would take longer time to obtain the case number from NVC now compared to previous cases. Keep calling DOS every 2-3 days after 11/14. However, if your file has been shipped to Embassy, that is not a problem at all. You can email Embassy to change the address by using this link for HCM Embassy : http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/contact/ivinquiries.html. You can pull down the arrow on Subject menu to " I have a change of address". You would need your case number and wait until Embassy received your case to change address.

If they mailed the case number on mail and assume that your fiancee don't receive it due to old address. That is not matter and you don't need to worry about it because you don't need that letter at all. It is just for your record and you can always call NVC or DOS to obtain your case number at any time. You will be fine and will not have any problem at all without receiving the letter from NVC.
