3kg Express Post Envelope

Hi there,

Might be a silly question, but i'm just about to send back packet 3 and have a question about the interview. The consulate asks for a 3kg self addressed Express Post Envelope. Will 3kg be enough as there will be 4 passports plus whatever they need to put in?
Do I risk it and just take one 3kg envelope or do I take 2 to be on the safe side?

02/25/18 - Case updated to "We received your case" 

04/06/18 - Case updated to "We received your case"

04/06/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing" - CSC to CSC  (letter)

04/10/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing" - CSC to POTOMAC  (letter)

04/11/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing"

04/19/18 - Case updated to "We received your case" 

05/07/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing" - POTOMAC to NBC.  (letter)

10/10/17 - Walk in Biometrics - Seattle.

10/18/17 - In line for Interview

05/02/18 - Interview Scheduled.

06/01/18 - Interview - APPROVED

07/04/18 - July 4th Oath Ceremony.

Hi Ozgirl

From my experience, it will be ample. The K1 packet and passport that was returned to me would have been around 500gms total weight. I am sure they would have let you know if they needed more also. They have processes for processes!

I reckon so! All the best with it.

Also, when I sent mine in during September, it took 17 days (including weekends) until I was notified of an interview date. From other posts it seems to be about the general time frame too - so you are nearly there!

We sent in our packet 3 today before I noticed all the posts and we did not send an envelope. Did the Sydney consulate directly ask for one from you? I looked through all the checklists and our packet 3 information and do not see a request for a 3kg envelope. The only envelope request we saw was for the medical exam.

You dont need one to send with Packet 3. You take one with you to the interview. I think it's a self addressed 3kg express platinum envelope. Those instructions may come with packet 4.

Yep, 3kg is plenty! And you bring it with you in person, no need to send it with packet 3 - even if you HAVE forgotten anything, they send you through a checklist with packet 4 to remind you of what else you may need to bring.

I got pkt 4 about 20 days (incl weekends) after I sent pkt 3. I am in W.A though, so about as far as you could get from Sydney haha.. I got it Sept 16 and my interview was scheduled 8 days later! It went super fast! Good luck, you're at the tail end now! :)
