If you look at the timeline in my signature, you can see that things are happening at an impressive rate compared to all timelines I have seen in the past. Is it just the DS-160 form that has made this possible, or is it also due to how the embassies process these forms?

Just thought this may be an interesting topic for new people visiting this site to see.

In my opinion, I think these variables are combine together, USCIS, NVC, and embassy. NOT ONLY because DS-160 form that a lot more easier but also from the initial petition, I-129F. In past, usually it took 3-6 months for USCIS to approved just for the petition. After that, case file was sit for a while at NVC and forwarded to the consulate.

I see you're basically at the same point as I am in this process. I will be interested to see how things go for us in this last stretch.

I guess, in average most people are pretty same now when processing at USCIS. When case file received by US embassy now is depend to K-1 visa applicants to make their process get faster.

Some people have problem for instance I-134 (affidavit support) because they need co-sponsor, or other documents like police certificate especially for those who had lived in another countries, and etc. It also doesn't count when consulate put a visa on AP (administrative processing) for a while.

For my case, I've got my case number on October, 24th, but I still don't set my an appointment interview date yet or go to fill DS-160 form.

Since my fiance will come to Indonesia for my interview and being in the military he has to get permission to travel to another country. It will delay a bit for our last step to K-1 visa. After he got approval and then I am going to set interview date for me. Our I-797 will expired on February so we still have plenty amount of times.

I will say, after visa is approved that what I will count for the whole process and determine whether it is a lot faster or not. But just my 2 cents. Other people can easily disagree with me.
