Anyone with a similar case? Waiting on I-130 approval to administratively close removal and then file I-601a

Most of my situation is in my timeline, but here is a quick overview:

We got married after my husband got an NTA for EWI. We are still waiting for a rescheduled MCH where he will take voluntary departure. In the meantime, we are also waiting for an I-130 interview and hopefully approval. And I-130's are taking a looooong time for everyone :/

At that point, we'd go in front of the IJ and ask him to administratively close the removal so we can file the I-601a (which we've already put together and is pretty strong).

So basically, we're racing the clock, hoping the I-130 gets approved before he leaves the country, since the I-601a automatically closes at that point, AND hoping that the gov't attorney and the IJ will agree to close the removal so we can get the I-601a and not have to use the I-601.

I am wondering if anyone is in the same situation or has gone through this process, especially given the I-601a is so new. Or has any advice (we have a great lawyer already).
