Folks, nothing hurts like having to wait on inaction. I was in torment back in my day, when our petition was at the tail-end of the timeline of that time.

(Little did I know that the true hell of the process was to come during the consular phase. After that, returning to dealings with USCIS was a distinct pleasure.)

Read the first three questions & answers in this pinned thread:

The larger situation is almost certainly much the same. Remember, too, that the DACA program (on the orders of one man) took precedence over all other petition types for many months and hurt the processing times. The link escapes me, but a VJ member ran a statistical analysis that seemed to leave no doubt.

The pain of the process can be diminished by focusing on the future -- how soon can you get the immigrant's life off to a running start after he/she is finally here? How can you prepare for the consular stage? Try to think resourcefully.

I think it's this one:

When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far, no one can ever tear them apart.

There's really nothing to think about. My wife will be here and will take care of our child during the day while I'm at work throughout and we'll spend our nights, mornings and weekends together.

What do you mean by think resourcefully? Thinking resourcefully and pondering what my wife will do after getting here doesn't make the process any better, nor does it speed it up. We're already prepared for the consular stage. I have a box of documents ready for both the NVC and the consulate. And we're feeling out all the forms in the next few months, only needing to send them off when USCIS actually gives us their approval - whenever the hek that will be.

The larger situation doesn't appear to be getting better at all in any way shape or form. Like I've said five billion times, while they corrected huge backlogs in the past, they don't appear to be correcting this one and the situation is hopeless.

Peace out

It seems, because of these delays, there is a lot of disappointment and anger, rightfully so, being aimed towards each other and not where it should be going. We all knew going in it wasn't going to be easy. We need to pull together, focus even though it is tiring and draining and keep moving forward. There are 3 options: Stick it out, hope things get better and get things in order, or quit and give up, or start letting congressmen/whomever know how you feel.

Everyone has a story, we need to respect everyone's feeling whether we see it justified or not. We can't be bitter because someone got an approval under a month or someone had to wait 2 years. We are in this together.

okay so this is my last update it seems on this thread simply because there is no much left to say:

Got a response back from my congressperson today regarding the (re)inquiry about the K3/129F application trying to dig out why that is not being processed by itself as the K3's were intended. Yup I realize they aren't processing K3's anymore, but I just needed them to say that. They should probably make this statement jump out on every K3 link on the USCIS website so people don't waste their time and energy, cause it's just not going to happen at all: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2993.html#1

USCIS response:

The processing time frame for I-130 and I-129F are the same. If the petitioner files the I-129F it is matched with the I-130 petition and are adjudicated together.

The NBC will expedite the I-130/I-129F if it meets the expedite criteria. Due to the extremely high volume of expedite requests for this case type, we are strictly enforcing the criteria that has been set for these expedite requests. Based on the information provided, we are unable to expedite the processing of this case. All expedite requests must be accompanied by supporting documents that demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met.

So that's the most consistency I've seen on any of this stuff...." NO we are not processing your K3, not now not ever!" :)
