Updating with recent approvals. Also I got another notification today that my card was ordered, which seemed a bit odd.

Hi everyone. I noticed from other months that on the last few days, ROC applicants with no change of address and that had their Bios late/Oct to early/Nov are getting news. I guess it should be about

We got a reply this afternoon for our e-request submitted yesterday morning exactly 1 day over the 6 months "normal processing time":



Your Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (Form I-751) is undergoing final review by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). To date, a decision notice has not been sent regarding your petition. You should receive a decision notice or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.



Not contented with the reply, we called the USCIS this evening. The tier-1 rep came online very shortly, and she was very nice to not keep us waiting by acknowledge immediately on her own that our case is "outside of the normal processing time," and she transferred us to tier-2 without delay.



We waited over an hour for tier-2, who is another very nice lady. After verifying all of our information, she said we called at the right time. Our petition was approved today. However, the online status is not updated. She said we should allow 30-days for the new card to be mailed to us.



We hope she's right, and we hope to receive an email, a text confirmation, or an update on the USCIS status website soon.

Good what is tier 2

Tier-1 is the person who answers the phone first, the "gatekeeper" who answers simple questions but can't give you the details you want. Tier-2 are the people who can look up more information about your case and tell you more. That's my explanation. :)

Received a letter today:

Dated of Decision: 05/08/2014

Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved. You are deemed to be a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States as of the date of your original admission or adjustment of status.

You should receive a new Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551 (green card), within 60 days...

Although we received text and email notifications for NOA1, we did not receive any for the approval. The USCIS status website wasn't updated either and still shows our NOA1 date and "Initial Review".

Hi All -

We are getting ready to respond to our RFE and I will let you know when it is sent. It was a personalized type RFE and we are responding with:

- an updated birth certificate with my husbands name on it (he was not in the country yet when our son was born)

- joint checking account data from 2012 - 2014 (we didn't open it jointly until 2012)

- notarized affidavit from my mother that we live with her and pay part of the rent (she holds the mortgage and is our landlord)

- our son's preschool record showing his address and parents

- photos from our marriage, my pregnancy, my husbands bday party and recent fam pics

- our 2013 joint tax returns (already submitted 2011 and 2012)

I hope this is good enough in addition to the information we already sent. If not, I am ready to get to the interview and get it done with.

For once, snail mail beat email, at least in our case :)

Two days ago (5/12), we received snail mail saying our ROC was approved on 5/8. The letter was postmarked 5/9.

Today (5/14), we received both text and email about new case status:

On May 9, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

The case status webpage actually updated today.

Not complaining about the good news, just wondering how USCIS works.
