12/02/2013 ~ Biometrics appointment 12/26/2013

12/26/2013 ~ Biometrics appointment done

09/12/2014~ Approved - Card in Productioin

09/15/2014~ Letter of approval received

Hi everyone. I noticed from other months that on the last few days, ROC applicants with no change of address and that had their Bios late/Oct to early/Nov are getting news. I guess it should be about

The wait is pretty horrible. It is very surprising that no one in our November VJ forum has been approved yet. Today makes 4 months since NOA receipt. Praying for everyone so that we can all have this heavy burden off our hearts and minds.

Our time will soon come....

first, do not sweat it, uscis is a total disaster. If god bless all of us to see a third anniversary , i will say n400 is the way to go and your One year extension will take you there. so worst case scenario no approvals this year but you will still get your citizenship if you want to by forcing n400 in their lazy a**.

I figured out why there is a processing delay for all of us. Based on the USCIS Processing Time Information for CSC, the I-751 Processing timeframe used be 6 months and now its July 2, 2013. So basically they have not even looked at our november filings :(

1/28/12 : Perminant residence card received

11/05/2013 : delivery confirmation

11/07/2013 : check cleared

11/08/2013 : rec. NOA

11/15/2013 : rec. ASC appoint. notice for biometrics

12/02/2013 : biometrics appointment

when i look it up, it says 6.1months for California center. effective as of Dec. 2013...

As you can see here, there are August, September and October filers who have already been approved and also June, July filers who are still waiting. Basically each case processing time depend on an IO who is working on it.

what do you mean by "and now its July 2, 2013."? the timeframe used to be 6months and now its 7months or 1year??

There are two dates on the uscis processing time website

1. Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: December 31, 2013 (shown on top of table)
2. Posted date: February 18, 2014 (Shown near top of the website )

I am not sure what the difference between the two dates mean. What I do know is that for the longest time the I-751 processing time was shown as 6 months but now its shown as July 2, 2013 so wouldnt it mean there is a processing delay ?

i wouldn't necessarily say that. Over 85% July filers got approved so far. Those 15% people seem like they might be not updating their status after they got approved. Also, those July filers who just got approved are the ones who got RFE in Jan or Feb...

What i am trying to say is lets not worry/concern too much about it. It seems like the avg. processing time is still 4~6 months. And lets not forget that there was a government shutdown from Oct 1st to 16th which can definitely delay things more...

More than 50% of the October 2013 filers have been approved, and some of the ones that haven't been approved have received RFEs. We, November 2013 filers, have received NOTHING. Regardless of the reasons for this, there is absolutely nothing we can do. Calling the 800 number or doing Infopass is a complete waste of time.

Naturalization Journey

Oct 07, 2014: Sent N-400 packet.

Oct 14, 2014: Received email and sms text that my N-400 application has been received as well the receipt number of my case.

Oct 15, 2014: Check cashed.

Oct 17, 2014: Received NOA. NOA Notice Date is: Oct 10, 2014

Oct 27, 2014: Received yellow letter: Pre-interview Case File Review. (Does NOT mention date of interview.)

Nov 05, 2014: Biometrics were done.

Dec 05, 2014: On-line status updated: In-line for interview.

Dec 29, 2014: On-line status updated: Interview scheduled; notice was sent by mail with the date.

Jan 03, 2015: Received Interview Appointment Notice. Interview date: Feb 02, 2015.

Feb 02, 2015: Had my interview. I.O. verbally said, I had "passed" and should receive the Oath Ceremony notice within 90 days. I.O. did not give me anything in writing.

Feb 05, 2015: On-line status updated: Oath Ceremony scheduled; notice was sent by mail with the date, time and location of ceremony.

Feb 07, 2015: Received Oath Appointment Notice. Oath date: Feb 13, 2015.

Feb 13, 2015: Oath taken. Received Naturalization certificate. Became a US Citizen!

ROC Journey

Nov 04, 2013: Sent I-751 packet.

Nov 08: Received NOA1. Receipt date: Nov 05, 2013.

Nov 16: Received Biometrics appointment for Dec 02.

Nov 18: Succesful walk-in for Biometrics: Done.

Mar 02, 2014: We relocated within the same city, but to a different zip code. Filed change of address of I-751 case pending and AR-11.

Mar 24: Approved!

Mar 31: 10-year GC arrived in the mail.

AOS Journey

Aug 12, 2010: Entered US with K1 visa.
Aug 13: Married.
Aug 16: Sent AOS, AP & EAD package by Fedex to the Chicago S. Dearborn St. address.
Sept 10: AOS case transferred to the California Service Center.
Sept 18: Received hardcopy letter that my AOS case was transferred to the CSC on Sept 10.
Nov 01: AP approved. EAD and AP are available on-line for the first time.
Nov 06: AP received! and Biometrics appointment notice received (scheduled for Nov 29).
Nov 29: EAD card production ordered. (My on-line status jumped from Initial Review to Card Production.)
Dec 10: EAD card received.
Mar 10, 2011: First RFE from the CSC. They lost my I-693! Had to re-do it.
Apr 15: Another RFE from the CSC. Bona fide marriage evidence. We provided the requested documents.
Sept 03: Received Interview Appointment Notice. Interview scheduled for September 27. Finally!
Sept 27: We had our interview. Very easy straight forward questions. Officer needed further processing for our case.
Jan 05, 2012: Case status update - Decision: Approved.
Jan 09: Received letter in the mail with Notice of AOS Decision: Approved.
Jan 10: Case status update - Card Production Ordered.
Jan 13: Green card arrived in the mail. Done with AOS!

Actually, USCIS did a pretty good job with October filers. They knocked down almost 85 % of the cases. There are only 5 applicants left in there without any response ( either RFE or approval ). It is really puzzling that there is not even an approval until today in novemeber thread.

It seems to me that some of the other posters feel entitled to get approved immediately, don't forget that we are still staying at someone else's 'house' here and unless we become US Citizens we will never be considered an equal member of society from a status perspective.

I would rather wait an extra 2 months if it means that I don't need to take a day off to go do an interview or jump through other hoops. The fact that we're paying quite a bit of money for every step of the process does not mean they owe us anything.

What difference does it make anyway? We all have our letter that allows us to stick around and do whatever we want until the end of this year or early 2015, just chill out and enjoy the upcoming spring weather.
