six7one,

Thank you I was getting worried that I had forgot a big step in the visa process the only recovery I will have to do is get a 2nd Signed I-134 out to my Fiance and she can get copy the rest of the docs from the packet that i just sent and put a 2nd package together for her son even through I listed him on the original I-134 also.

Sincerest,

Regards

Hello,

I have filled out all forms and my Fiance and 2 kids are in Manila now. I wanted to clarify something and hope Hank can confer if I'm correct but you only need QTY=1 I-134 sighned for the Fiance as the kid/kids are listed on that form. I have never read that a seperate I-134 is needed for a child or each child. The interview she will have is also with the children and they will ask and review the I-134 so why would you give the same document 2 or 3 times to one person reviewing it and interviewing a Fiance with her child?

Just don't want you to do more than you need.

Good luck!

Three applications, three DS-160, three files, three visas...... three I-134s. (complete it online, print three copies, sign three copies... really not too much work)

charissedvd,

One tip i would give you is to make sure that your child has here passport with here when you pay your Visa fee's at the bank. We did not bring ours with us and the bank (BPI) not allow us to pay the fee even when we had the Embassy receipt as required. The bank was BPI I hope that saves someone a trip back to the bank also see Hanks tip below do not know if that will apply to your child that will most likely depend on here age but i will leave that answer to the more experienced VJ members.

Wow, three I-134??? I never read that at embassy site or instructions. My Fiance and 2 kids are in Manila now and yes they have three DS-160 but I only sent one I-134. I'll dig deeper but don't understand any logic in having three I-134? I guess we will see if that goes or not.

Thanks Hank.

on the subject of a separate 1-134 for a K-1 and K-2, this is an email I received from the Embassy. it is from 7 years ago, so I can't say with certainty it still applies today.

As long as both applicants are named in the I-134 affidavit of support, a single copy will suffice.

Subject: affidavit of support

Case number MNL2006xxxxxx

Yasmin XXXXXX will be applying for a K-1 visa and her daughter Effie a K-2 visa. Do I need to submit a separate I-134 Affidavit of Support for each of their applications?

Regards,

Roy XXXXXX

back then, the I-134 needed to be notarized, now it does not. so, to be safe, easy to just submit a copy for each applicant, if time allows.

But they do want copies for the other applicant's files. Just the same how much effort is it to print three copies out, write your name three times and send them all in the same package? Seriously. You get one cranky CO ... and your day is ruined.

If you go by the embassy instructions letter, you provide the I-134 for each applicant.

Logic is - three people, three applications, three approvals, three visas.

You do not need a I134 for each child (K2) as they are listed on the mother's I134 document. You will need 3 - DS160's and at the end of the mother's you can add another family member (in the case the K2's). I just completed this for mother and two children with the USEM just 2 weeks ago during our interview (which I attended).

Good luck.

hi...I seem to have a problem making a new post and found this thread to be very helpful for my own situation too.

similar exactly as the post owner's question--only that my daughter is a follow-to-join situation from the I-29f..

I just want to confirm that basically my child will now start with her own medical, interview and cfo process to get the k2 visa? as she is listed in the approved petition with the same MNL case # as mine..hope to hear from you...six7one or hank_

my apologies for intruding and thank you for taking time to rea

I don't have experience with a K2 Follow-to-Join but from what I've learned the process will be the same as if a K1 going alone. In other words, the K2 will pay for an interview, have medical exam, do the interview, then obtain a CFO stamp in his/her passport. As mentioned elsewhere in this post, the K2 must have all document requirements upon interview time.

Although it hasn't been asked for in all cases, my opinion is you should be prepared to present an I-134 to the CO in the case of a K2. The Embassy's instructions does not indicate a 134 is not needed for the K2, but why take an uncessary risk. I agree with Hank 100%. It's not hard to make an extra copy and sign it for your K2. Just my 2 cents.

Ah - it's one complete set o docs, per human.

3 humans? 3 sets o docs.

Hello VJ Family,

I have a question regarding my Fiance's 3 year old son, he was listed on the I-129F that was submitted with our original packet and we do plan on bringing him to the states when both Visa's are approved. We are at the point now that we just received the MNL # from the NVC after 5 weeks of waiting. After we pay the Visa's fee's for both her son and my Fiance and schedule an online interview with Embassy then go thru SLEC and pray all goes well.

* Does my Fiance need to bring the 3 year old to the interview at the Embassy?

* Also will we need to schedule a separate interview for him at the Embassy?

* Am i missing anything but the CFO?

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

*personal appearance is required for all applicants regardless of age

*yes, since they schedule per individual applicant rather than per case or petition, (same date of course) since they would require the individual receipt number when booking for an appointment either online or thru the call center.

*children 12yrs old and below are exempted but needs to be registered

I really think the key here is that what was said was "copy" of the I-134. Not another different filled document. Use the same one as the mother as long as the children are listed as such on the correct lines on the form. Copy is required as per explained treating them as individual visas. Was clear to me as explained.
