GED question

Hey y'all!

This might be a stupid question, but hey; better be safe than sorry. sleep.png

I plan to get a GED (General Educational Development) after the marriage.
Because I want a solid base to find a decent job + it could come in handy later on since here in school they did not teach us about American history etc.

My question is, am I allowed to follow those classes already? Or do I need to wait until my greencard arrives?

I did enquiry about some courses at local tech school (they also do GED) and when checking I was eligible for courses on my K-1 visa but because I lived in FL less than 12 months I would have to pay out of state fees which were considerably higher. I am sure though it varies from state to state and school to school so find a school that does GED prep course and enquiry there! I think there's also an option of self study and then you'd just go and do the test but not 100% sure.

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.

You can definitely do self study. That is what we are planning. My husband is taking an essay writing class at a local community college, but he really does not have the equivalent of an American HS diploma (only went to school to grade 10), so it looks like he'll need it.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.
