DS-160 form photo?

Hey guys,

I have a question about the Ds-160 photo. I am gearing up for my interview in ten days and have been vigorously reviewing that I have everything in order. I came across the confirmation of my DS-160 form that I submitted with packet 3 and I realized I was not able to upload a photo when I submitted it electronically. I had no issues when they logged packet 3 and was able to book my interview with no issues.

So, was I supposed to follow up by submitting a photo electronically to Montreal prior to my interview? Or should I just bring an extra passport style photo to the interview?

I am yet to be that far.

Even if not online in DS 160, you would have sent two passport size photo prints with your packet3. Isn't? so there should be no need for you to follow up. But to play it safe I would still go with extra photos for the interview.

The DS-160 photos we submitted passed the online test, but Montreal did not accept the exact same photos we had mailed in with packet 3 and had to mail them new ones. Assuming you sent in 2 photos with packet 3, you should be ok. I don't think Montreal have switched over to using the DS-160 yet for everything.

Ok so what you are saying is, you hadn't sent in two photos with your packet three? Or you brought in the same photos you had submitted electronically for the DS-160 and they didn't accept those at the interview?

I dont remember needing any at the interview. We took our own pictures, and uploaded them to the DS-160. Then we used those same pictures, and sent 2 copies in packet 3. When we got packet 4, they requested we mail back 2 photos that had a white background before scheduling the interview.

If you bring 2 photos that should be good enough (it is all they ask for), but if you have 4 that can't hurt.

Well I am bringing extra because I was not able to upload a photo electronically when I sent in the DS-160. So they will have that form with an X where my picture was supposed to be. On my confirmation page that I printed out after submitting, it says "Please bring a 5cmx5cm passport style photo to your interview" where the photo is supposed to be. I guess I was a bit worried about not uploading it electronically but I have specific instructions to just bring in an extra photo to my interview. Hopefully it doesn't give me any trouble!
