I have no way to tell you how long it will take, other than it should only be a week or 2 before CDJ has your case file. Then they tend to take their dear sweet time in sending out the letter to you. Once they send it, it takes about 6 weeks to receive. Sometimes people never receive it. The good news is that you do not have to wait for the letter in order to fill out your DS-160, pay the fee and schedule your appointments. If you still have not received the letter by the time you have to go to Juarez, then you can go to the information window at the consulate before going to your appoints and medical, and they can print one out for you.

Once the NVC has said your case was sent to CDJ, get your case# from them.

Kellymeow,

Seems like every case is different but for reference... We received our NOA2 (case sent to NVC) on August 30. The consulate in Ciudad Juarez opened their file on October 15th, and we just received our notification to schedule the appointment. So about 1.5 months for it to get through NVC to the consulate, and another 2 weeks for them to process.

Good luck to you!

Dave

Get your case# from the NVC and you can use this website to see when CDJ has your case. It will tell you it is "Ready". That means it is at the consulate. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? OR, you can call the Department of State to ask about your case status > (202) 485-7600.

Yes, the DS-160 is for all K-1 applicants. Follow the pdf instructions from Juarez I linked to above. You can either wait for the letter from them, or go ahead and fill out the DS-160 while you wait for it. Once you fill that out, you can go ahead and make an account at this site, which is where you will pay and schedule your ASC and interview. http://mexico.usvisa-info.com

It took me one week to receive the letter from ciudad juarez

Wow, thanks for posting your experience. Maybe they have sped up at CDJ about getting those letters out, or yours was a nice, speedy fluke. I hope they have sped things up for everyone though.
