are vaccinations needed for the k1 visa prior to interview? i read that they arent needed but once youre adjusting your status you will need them. (my fiance is in tunisia)

Thank you!

Yes, I am pretty sure that the vaccinations are needed. They are pretty much country-dependent. Check your embassy instructions PDF (as if you received the invitation letter).

the vaccinations are not required for k1 visa issuance but are absolutely required for adjustment of status.

most people get the shots during their k1 medical exam as the costs for getting them done could be much cheaper than in the US and the beneficiary may not have medical insurance during their first month or two in the US. if you have already gotten the required shots during k1 and you have your medical exam for adjustment of status less than a year from the date of the previous medical, you can merely get the civil surgeon in the US to sign off on your form instead of doing a full new medical exam.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

avoid trouble and get them done before your medical if you can, check what shots you need first.!!!!!!! I needed just an MMR shot and didnt get it done before i left England, here in the US it cost me $125 + an influenza shot at $70 and the Doctor tried to have me take a medical again before he would sign the form,it was all stress and expensive,so my advice is get it done before your medical and avoid having to see a Doctor over here for AOS
