while waiting for NVC case number....

Something is not right. Have you called NVC? We were only three days from NOA 2 - NVC case number. I would say the time for patiently waiting has passed. You need to be on the phone.

I just looked through your past posts. I see you were the couple with a NOA 2 in 21 days. I wonder if that was a snaffu at USCIS. You really need to be on this phone.

slowlyman as you watch a few of these cases you will see how really lucky you were in the timing of your case. I have never seen a case that went as fast as your from USCIS to NVC. My own took months not days for example.

I doubt there is anything wrong at USCIS. One way to know is to try to find out if the case was assigned a bar code because that's the last step at USCIS. Once the case has a bar code its put with others in a collection area until they send a group of cases to NVC.

These cases are not scanned into NVC right away. They may sit idle at NVC for some unknown period until they are. This is one reason NVC doesn't acknowledge they have the case which makes it appear that USCIS hasn't sent it. Calls to USCIS result in a confusing array of info because they insist they don't have the case. So each agency says they don't have the case.

This often results in the infamous enlistment of the politicians. These are the same people that haven't done anything about immigration reform for many years. Their golf game has improved more that the laws.

To have a NOA 2 in 21 days is also not normal. I hope the lucky steak continues but there may be some adjustment point in these cases that bring them closer to the average.

Still nothing wrong with your advise to use the phone. Its therapeutic if nothing else.

I just looked at the timeline Stats. Average wait NOA2 -Consulate. 24 days. So I guess that means these guys are right in the average.

Average time NOA1 - NOA2. 140 days. They certainly beat the average there. Maybe it's pay back time.

I got my NOA2 on 10/18/13 and up till now it has not been received at the NVC. I have called the USCIS three times and asked for a tier 2 supervisor, but all I get is - you have to wait for a month before I even start calling. Looking at the various posts, something has gone wrong between NOA2 and the issuing of case numbers at the NVC. The trend line shows it is now taking about 50 days, I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent government shut down. My case was transferred from VSC to TSC, RFEd and approved. The USCIS tried to tell me they sent it off to the embassy of my fiancé's country, utter bull. I give up.

There is nothing wrong. What you are experiencing is normal except to you because this is all new to you. Keep in mind USCIS and NVC deal with 2.5 million cases. Yours is just one.

Patience young grass hopper........................ You're just at the begining of a long and sometimes infuriating process. You're in that limbo state Ning mentioned earlier. USCIS is most likely not lying to you. They have sent your file to your fiances country. The file will make an ever so brief stay at NVC then on to the consulate. If it has indeed left USCIS all you will get from a supervisor is that info. NVC is who you should be calling after you hit the 25 day mark.

I can't tell you how helpful the responses to this question have been. Thank you all for input. I realize I wasn't the original poster of this question, but the exact same question has been on my mind. Your insights are invaluable.

Does anyone know how long it is taking for the I129f approvals once sent from the TSC to make it to the NVC? From the time the time the status at the USCIS says sent to the NVC, to when the NVC acknowledges receipt.

Have you taken time to read the posts above?
