when your CEAC case status updates from 'in transit' to 'ready' that usually means the embassy has received it. packet 3 will be in the mail soon after. the embassy will not say whether or not they have received it most of the time.

Thanks .. good to know... CEAC case status is 'ready' and it was updated May 12. So we should be expecting the Packet 3 soon. Thanks

Hello!

So, I just received an email saying my application has been approved and a notice was sent. What do we do now?

Thank you.

Are you talking about the NOA-2 ?

You can start by reading this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

We got the Drs Horne & Chin Pte Ltd as the appointed medical checkup.

- How long do they usually give out the result?

- Is the faster doing the medical checkup, the faster interview date is? (i.e. is the interview date related to the result of medical checkup?)

Just got packet 3 this week! Here's what it contained:

1. Cover note from Immigrant Visa Branch

2. Visa instructions attachicon.gifVisa Instructions for Singapore Embassy pg 1.jpgattachicon.gifVisa Instructions for Singapore Embassy pg 2.jpg

3. Form I have to sign saying I have all the documents on the checklist attachicon.gifVisa Instructions for Singapore Embassy pg 3.jpg

4. Instructions for I-134

5. I-134

6. Letter for medical

7. Letter for Certificate of Clearance

We spent an hour completing DS-160 today and printed the confirmation page with the barcode. I'll be paying the S$312 fee at Standard Chartered Upper Thomson tomorrow over lunch and sending off the forms and receipt at the end of the day. I'm hoping for an interview date in mid-December. Fingers crossed!

On your point #3, the form says "You will not be scheduled for an appointment until you return the checklist, this form, payment receipt and the ds-160 confirmation page"

So there are 4 things to return to the embassy?

"This form" is the form that we sign. What is the checklist? Is that the page 1 & 2 of the instructions?

it takes about a week, give or take, for the med exam results to reach the embassy. the medical exam and interview dates are unrelated.

that is how i interpreted it. i sent in the instructions as well but made a copy for my own records before mailing them in.

Thanks kitthekat. Does it matter when she does the medical exam? I see on your timeline that you went before you got packet 4, and another, I saw that she went after packet 4. We were also told by the clinic that we needed the interview date before going into the medical exam. So I'm assuming we need to wait till packet 4 ?

i was also asked for my 'interview appointment letter' by the clinic but i told them it had not been set yet and showed them the instructions from packet 3 and that was sufficient.

you can do the medical anytime after receiving packet 3. the visa will be valid for 6 months from the date of the medical, so if you need to delay entering the US for any reason, that's something you'd want to take into account. if you do the medical too late and by the time of the interview, the medical results haven't reached the embassy yet, there will be a short delay before the visa is issued.

Hi all,

I am the beneficiary and I'll be moving tomorrow to another address but the mailing address I stated in my I-129F is my office address and that will remain the same. At this point, we are waiting for the NOA2 hardcopy to arrive in the mail. Is there something that I need to do? Do I have to update USCIS or NVC perhaps? I'm not sure if NVC will forward our case in the US Embassy in Manila or here in Singapore so I'm quite unsure of the next steps. If you have been in the same position, please let me know what I need to do.

Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey all,

Just a quick question. Is the NBI clearance of PI enough for the interview or does my Fiance also include the Police Certificate?

Thank you.

she will need police certificates from each country she has lived in for more than 6 months after the age of 16.

Seems like it would be simpler for you to receive mail at your office address, since you wouldn't have to notify anyone of an address change.

If you want to know whether your case is being forwarded to Singapore or Manila, call NVC for your case number. They might not have your case yet but you can call daily just to check and see if it is. Your case number will either start with SGP for Singapore or MNL for Manila.

Hi kitthekat,

Thanks so much! I received my packet 3 yesterday and they sent it to my office address. Thankfully I am assigned in Singapore US Embassy so I don't have to go home to Manila for my interview :)

I am now assembling the requirements and I have a question. It says there that "You will not be scheduled for an appointment until you return the CHECKLIST, this form, payment receipt and the DS-160 confirmation page to us."

What is the checklist that they are referring to? Is that the visa instructions page 1 and 2? Do I have to tick the requirements applicable to me? I am confused on what checklist to return to them. Any help will be much appreciated! :) Thanks so much!!

yes, the checklist is the two pages of visa instructions. i don't know why they word it that way. you don't have to tick anything. :)
