Hello VJ Family!

We are  about to schedule our interview in Singapore. NOA2 dated Nov 2.    The same date  we filed the DS-160 - Dec 24- our CEAC status changed from "Ready"  to "Please contact the U.S. Consular office you believe is responsible for processing your visa application".  It does not sound good at all.  "...you believe is responsible" -like we're confused about what country we're in .  Is this a standard message after a DS160 is filed?

I sent an email inquiry to the  Consulate and got an Auto-Gen acknowledgement. Our USCIS Approval expires on February 2 and NOA2  took 10    months.  Any suggestions or knowledge  anyone can share?

The singapore USem is very responsive. Usually emails back within one or two business days. Hope you find out what that is all about!

-=ROC & Naturalization Timeline=-

January 25, 2021 - ROC application received

January 22, 2022 - Case transferred

January 16, 2022 - Naturalization application received

April 7, 2023 - ROC and Naturalization Interview

April 20, 2023 - Oath Ceremony scheduled

Problem fixed it seems.  The AA number we got from NVC no longer works on the CEAC website but the SGP number does.  The Consulate touched our case yesterday and it continues to say Ready.  Thank you for your reply.

Just got packet 3 this week! Here's what it contained:

1. Cover note from Immigrant Visa Branch

2. Visa instructions post-163508-0-57263200-1383489413_thumb.jpgpost-163508-0-91918600-1383489442_thumb.jpg

3. Form I have to sign saying I have all the documents on the checklist post-163508-0-01331900-1383489475_thumb.jpg

4. Instructions for I-134

5. I-134

6. Letter for medical

7. Letter for Certificate of Clearance

We spent an hour completing DS-160 today and printed the confirmation page with the barcode. I'll be paying the S$312 fee at Standard Chartered Upper Thomson tomorrow over lunch and sending off the forms and receipt at the end of the day. I'm hoping for an interview date in mid-December. Fingers crossed!

Update.

1. Colour U.S.-passport-photo-sized photos only.

2. COC is requested online with a SGD$55 fee -- requires a scan of the letter from U.S. Embassy.

3. Payment is $357.75 per person and can be paid at SingPost/S.A.M..

May I ask whether COC will be sent to embassy directly or will be sent to the beneficiary and then bring it to interview?

The letter that comes in Packet 3 will say that the COC will be sent straight to the embassy for you.

After applying online, I received a text message and an e-mail for a fingerprinting appointment, which was wait 15 minutes, fingerprints taken, wait 10 minutes, COC given to me. I carried my police certificate to the interview. Now, whether I did something wrong or this is always the case, I am not very familliar.

I detailed my entire experience from NOA2 to interview here:

If you have any other questions, let me know.

Thank you so much for prompt reply!

So according to the instructions in the packet 3, if petitioner and beneficiary has never married before, there's no need for a proof of no marriage certification, am I right to say that?

I am still in the waiting for NOA2, so I just start to see what is needed so that I can prepare some of them in advance. Hope you would still be checking the thread later.  Just feel a bit lost as Singapore doesn't seem to have a lot of K1 applicants...

Apparently not. It's why I made a more recent thread for my experience. No, single persons do not need marriage certificates.

I'm sorry I read this so wrong. No, you don't need certificates of no marriage. xD I believe only filipinos need CENOMAR.

Hi there! Not sure if you still log in VJ.

I just have a quick question, in Singapore, do we get to choose an interview date or the embassy schedule one for us?

The embassy schedules one for us. They will schedule you for the earliest possible day. Mine was two weeks after I received the interview date notification. You can e-mail them to change the interview date but you will need to wait longer than the date they scheduled for you.

If it helps, I spent 2 hours in the embassy itself. I would have spent maybe 1 hour if I hadn't forgotten my passport.

Hi AL-MJD, may I ask in your case, how long does it take for you get Packet 3 and interview and finally get the visa after you receive NOA2?

Do you mind share your timeline with me?  Thank you a lot!!~

If you click on my profile sweetie, you will see somewhere down the profile there is a link for my immigration process timeline, which I promise you will be more accurate than the below information:

NO2: 21st Feb(Online)/16th Feb(Everywhere else, including on the photocopy of my future-hubby's petition sent to me.)

This is important, your approved petition is valid 4 months from the date they stamped on the petition.

NVC

Case Number and Invoice ID received: 16th March (because I called pretty late)

Status showing "In Transit", i.e. on the way from NVC to embassy: 15th March

Status showing "Ready", i.e. Embassy received and is ready to start the process from the embassy side: 19th March

Embassy

PACKET 3 RECEIVED AT MAILING ADDRESS, PROVIDED IN PETITION: 21st March

Packet 3 requested documents returned: 3rd April (I was overseas in US visiting until 2nd April)

Packet 3 successfully reached embassy, as given by Singpost Registered Mail(tracking number): 5th April

Interview date received(via e-mail): morning of 6th April

Interview

Actual interview: 24th April

Medical date: 9th April

Interview approved:

Same place where you track if your case was in transit or ready at embassy

Case Last Updated CHANGED from 19th March (look at above "NVC ---> Ready") to 24th April. On 27th April, BOTH Case Created and Case Last Updated changed to 27th April. Status now reads "Application Received", no longer "Ready". On 30th April, Case Last Updated changes to 30th April, Status now reads "Issued".

There is no 31st April and 1st May is a Labour Day public holiday. I finally receive my passport with Visa inside via Aramex at my home address on 2nd May.
