Hi Guys,

I have sent my Packet 3 back last Friday (30 Oct 2015) via speedpost and I tracked that it has indeed reached the embassy. I had completed my medical exam last thursday too and they told me results will be 5-7 working days (but prior to my medical exam, I was told over phone that 3-4 working days is all it takes).

Now I am anxious to wait for the interview date. May I please confirm with you what Packet 4 contains? I presume it also has the interview date? I check this forum link you sent and there was one lady who received the interview date via phone call. I am really anxious because:

1) if they notify me by mail again (like for packet 3 they said it was sent out to me on 26 aug but i only got it 18 of oct after several follow-ups, they say it was lost in the mail and i pleaded for them to resend it).

2) I have business trips sometime this month. I plan to email the consular office to inform them.

Any thoughts please guys? Much appreciated!

Packet 4 will be mailed to you by post and you'll find it in the mailbox. If the letter is indeed lost in transit, call them up and check on it. If you don't, worst case scenario (& hopefully it wouldn't happen)is they will take it that you're no longer interested in the visa and therefore will drop the case. Which means, the $$ you paid for the application & the visa will be wasted. The ppl @ the embassy when you call can sound rude but don't worry you won't be the only one experiencing it. I personally have gone through one of them nasty ones myself. Just bite your tongue and ask for their assistance.

If you need to defer your interview, call them up and inform them, they will most probably tell you to email them. Do accordingly. That's what I did.

They will then email you back on it and send you a new interview date. It could take up to 3 weeks or a month to get a new interview date so either wait it out or follow up with them in a week or 2.

Hey Junehar, hows your interview??

Hey babakiki

It went really well! I should be able to pick up my passport sometime this week if there is no hiccup.

My appointment was for 845am and I arrived at around 840am. There were already 5 people ahead of me so in retrospect I should have came earlier.

I waited for about 1.5hours and then I was called and this man took all my documents. He would briefly ask this or that ie. what does he do, have either of you been previously married or not, etc. Basically questions that we had previously answered on the forms. The forms that he took were: Birth certs, Affidavit of support, our bank accounts, COC. He didn't even ask for our evidence of relationship etc but I might have just been lucky.

After that I was asked to wait again for about 20 mins for "my interview" with this asian american lady. I approached the stand and was told to swear that everything I say is true, and then she took my fingerprints. Then she asked me three questions, where we met, what he does, and where we are planning to marry. Then she asked whether I still have valid US visas and I said yes, I gave her my old passports and she proceeded to stamp the visas to cancel them. And then she said all my documents are in order, congratulations, and that I should be able to pick up my passport next week.

Phew!

On Friday I got an email asking when I completed my studies and when did I left the US (I studied there previously), I replied the email and haven't heard anything since. Hopefully everything is ok and that I should be able to get my passport back this week!

Dear Vee,

Thanks so much for your helpful answer. Yes, you are right, I called the IV unit twice to follow-up on that packet 3 incident I had mentioned previously, and they did sound annoyed when I was asking them. I called the line that is open to public inquiries 3:30-4:30 pm weekdays only. 64769038. Is that same number you have user? And just one more thing please to confirm - the packet 4 is not registered mail (where Singpost man needs someone to receive it)? Thanks again, Vee! :)

Noted on the request to defer - this is a very helpful information! :)

Im sorry but I do not recall what number I had called but I do remember I had gotten the phone number from the US Consulate website as they issue the interview dates and visas.

Packet 4 is not a registered mail whereby you'd need to have someone receive it. It will be just sent and placed in the mailbox by the post(wo)man.

You're welcome and best of luck!

Hey guys,

Sorry to bother y'alls, but I literally just received the approval from USCIS for the I-129f (yay!) and I'm now completely lost in terms of how to proceed. I understand from my researching that TSC will be sending the approval to the visa centre, which will then send it to the Singapore embassy which I assume will then contact me to schedule a date for the interview? At least, I think that's what it is.

I really need advice on what documents I need to receive or send now. I know that my fiance has to send his whole submission packet to me, including another letter indicating his intent to marry and bank docs and all that stuff and also a copy of the letter he will be receiving from USCIS. I don't know if I should start getting the police clearance or is there anything I need to submit to the US embassy on my side now?

I am so lost and I'm just anxious to get this over with because it took 11 months to even get the I-129f approved and I don't want to have to wait 11 more to get married and start planning my wedding proper.

Thank you all so much for any help!

Your fiance will have to send you that either a scanned copy of NOA2 or best if he can send it together with the other documents.

Your fiance needs to send you a copy of whatever he had sent for the application of the K1 visa. Anything that needs his signature has to be ORIGINAL (his signature has to be in ink and not a photocopy)

You will need to wait for Packet 3 before you can go ahead for CoC application. Meanwhile, check and see if you have all your shots UTD, if you do not have any of the required shots UTD, I would recommend you getting them from one of the travel clinics (1. cos some shots would require more than 1 dosage and minimum a month apart between dosages & 2. its cheaper than Horne & Chin, as appointed by the Consulate).

Upon receiving Packet 3, you can then proceed to apply for CoC, prepare for the medical checkup, and further instructions on what other documents to provide and how to proceed.

It would help to read through this entire thread to get a clearer picture of what to expect.

HTH & good luck!

Ok so I've just requested for my vaccination records and was just wondering how do I tell if my vaccines are up to date? And also, how do I find out what I'm lacking? I know I was up to date per student visa back in 2011 when I initially went to the States for school, but I'm not quite sure what the requirements are?

I know these are needed:

MMR

Boostrix

Flu

Varicella vaccine

But without a doctor or consult during the medical how do I tell if I'm up to date? I don't want to have to get shots during the medical because of the cost, and I doubt if I just walked into any old clinic they would know exactly what is required for this visa..

Hi ediblecosmos,

The four vaccines you mentioned are the ones required for the visa. I would strongly recommend you wait for the P3. since you need the cover letter from the us embassy to the medical exam, on the US embassy's affiiliated clinic here in singapore. just to share my recent experience... i was not asked to take varicella vaccine since i already had chicken pox but when i called to follow-up on my results, they said they need to see the blood test results if i am still required or not. Having said that, it is quite inconsistent. I am only hoping now that i don't need this varicella vaccine since i do not really want to go down there again and take leave. For added info, I did have my vaccination records me and my vaccines are updated (except the flu vax) but I was still required to take the shots of those i have already taken. So i think its a case to case basis.

Your medical history (that blue booklet from school) would have the records. As mentioned, you can head to the travel clinic (TTSH, SGH, etc) to get the shots once your medical history is sent to you. I can't recall which one of those is a 5-10yr vaccine (it's kinda late here and I don't wanna go dig up my file to check)

Varicella is chicken pox. You will need to get tested to see if you have the immunity in you for chicken pox (if you've ever had). Otherwise you'll need vaccine against it. Flu shots are a must and lasts for just a year. It's winter soon so if you're heading to a cold state, best get it. youll also need Hep C vaccine if I'm not wrong.

To save some cash, IMO (after checking and comparing prices between the travel clinics), TTSH is cheaper than any of the ones mentioned in one of the threads. Perhaps check them out (you'll recv a yellow booklet to keep after you're done with vaccines and tests)

alright, they updated the status and now it says "Administrative Processing"

can anyone tell me what this means? i notice that some people's interview result goes straight to approval and usually administrative processing means that they require additional documentation.

its so strange as the consulate officer did not mention anything at all during/after the interview. I would've been happy to provide any additional documentation but she said that "everything is in order".

how frustrating. i hope this doesnt drag out.

I wish I could tell you but I do not know what "administrative processing" means or if it is true that they require additional documents. You'd just have to either call the consulate direct / email them or wait it out until you receive a letter from them.
