I just checked ceac website and it says ISSUED! YAY! Does that mean I can go collect my passport at Aramex? Seems like embassy in SG is really really efficient when they mention a week exact minus public holiday and weekend! I can finally at ease buy my air ticket, my fiance is so happy!

Fyi, I checked the US embassy website, it states this: Not sure what they mean by date of approval

PASSPORT/VISA COLLECTION LOCATIONS:

Once your non-immigrant visa is approved, your passport will be ready for either pick-up or delivery three business days later. The passport can be picked up at the courier office you provided when you scheduled your appointment, or it will be delivered to your home or office if that is what you requested. For example, if your interview was on a Monday, your passport with the new visa should be available on Thursday. If there is a delay with your visa, you will be notified directly by the Embassy.

If you applied for a K1 visa or an Immigrant Visa, your passport will be ready for pick-up or delivery five business days after the date of approval at the address/location you specified when you registered your profile with us. We will notify you if there is a delay.

I haven't receive my passport yet, I was told by the Officer that it will take a week or so. Currently the status says Administrative Processing though, hope all is good!

If your interview pass with no missing documents needed, you will probably be fine.

May I know which airline will you be taking?

ill be taking Emirates on the 30th Nov frin SIngapore to NYC but we are vacationing in Bali from the 18th.

so happy to hear that you got your passport/visa back!!! hopefully my interview in two weeks go ok. im preparing my documents right now. when you were there, did they ask to see anything else other than the documents listed in packet 3 instructions?

Hey junehar! I haven't received my passport yet, still not in hand but just checked cgi website it says Passport has been received from consular section and is currently being processed for delivery! Most likely tomorrow late afternoon or monday will be able to collect!

Nope they didnt ask any further documents other than packet 3 list but do prepare recent 3 photographs together, I noticed the officer asked the previous filers for it too. I did gave my bank savings statement.

I believe their 5 business days to a week duration might delay a day or more due to overload of work. Theres quite alot of people filing for visas.

Oh I will be taking Korean Air, flying to Korea and transit from there to Atlanta, since theres no SQ over there in Georgia I plan to fly on 26th or 27th October, have not purchase my ticket yet.

I have just received an email from ustravels that my passport has already been collected by Aramex and they gave me a tracking number. Went to Aramex website to track, the documents are 0.5kg! Holy cow! Tomorrow will be able to get it!

Yes the "package" inside is a sealed envelope (only to be opened by customs officer) and covering it is a pink folder with your name on the tab, along with 1 or 2 pieces of paper indicating some K1 visa info etc. Take the entire folder with you in your carry-on. DO NOT check it into your luggage

Got my package and passport on hand! I have two packages with a pink folder and 4 rubberbands sealed! Just a question, on the visa itself on my passport it says petition expired in November, will it be a prob if my POE is after the date of expiry of petition? Saw a thread in the k1 post that a lady got rejected at POE in Canada cos her NOA2 expired. Just worried about Singapore customs process. Will it also affect my filing of AOS since I have to wait for copies of marriage license? I will be putting these packages in my handcarry luggage since they're quite heavy! I've just shipped my copy of I-129F and evidences by sea mail cos my luggages are overweight, it costs 129SGD! I should've buy another luggage for 200USD and can put extra 20kg of stuffs!

Congrats! Yes you will be denied entry if you have not traveled by the time your visa expires and you will have to go through the entire process again.

What do you mean "worried about Singapore customs process" what are you worried about?

And for filing of AOS, only after when you've gotten your marriage certificate then you can apply for AOS.

Is it possible to purchase more baggage now before you depart?

I had 3 check in baggages and 1 carry on + laptop backpack + tote. So I know your pain

Oh no, I don't think so. Once you're married, you can file for AOS whether your petition date is expired or not.

Unless you're referring to entering the country AFTER either one is expired, esp the petition expiry, then yeah you're probably encounter the same as that person.

If you have a license in Sg already, you can apply for a license at the DMV once you have a SSN. Im not sure why they were able to apply with just their NOA2??

As for application of AOS, the NOA2 does not play a part once you're legally married.

I would recommend you calling up the consulate and confirm with them on this to ease your mind. Highlight to them that there was a similar case (but then again that person was denied entry @ Canada's POE, right? Or did I get it wrong?)

Nonetheless, check with them on Monday and see if the same situation could be avoided.

I think most airports will have only Tourists or Green card/Residents lines... so yeah stay on the Tourist/All passports line
