That is weird, the interviewer didnt give me anything other than the document submission letter but I was asked by first officer if I have registered aramex which i assume it is the cgi website and I did. Went to check but unable to see document delivery information. Perhaps there are changes again?

Oh yes behind the documents submission letter, there is a bold paragraph that states:

Aramex will deliver the documents and/or passport to the Embassy, and your passport will be couriered back to you after visa issuance.

Guess I will have to wait till the ceac website says administrative processing and check back again?

Well, you could check with Aramex directly I suppose?

Hey vee, I actually read back what other posters encounter, one of the posters also had the same problem. So if anyone of you also unable to choose location, what you need to do is go back again to cgi website and under the tab on top Visa Type>Non Immigrant Visa> K Visa> press the Visa Type on the blue tab here

(press continue, continue and continue even you have registered previously) The delivery choice will appear after at the last page! I choose Changi cos I live in the east. Thanks for your help Vee, the letter that was given to you was given to me in packet 4. I think they make some changes, because even the letter given to me for packet 4, there is an enclosures wordings that was erased out too.

Anyone intend or did a name change after marriage? Do we have to notify and change our names in Singapore too? Such as IC, CPF etc..

I will get my name change when I head back to Sg next. If you intend to, you will need to provide them the marriage certificate as proof. Over here, when you apply for AOS, you will need to change your maiden to married name when applying your SS card will also be in your married name instead of your maiden.

Thanks for the info, was thinking we do not need to change in SG then I prob will change name but guess now I will choose to remain cos theres just too much paperwork to do

I don't think theres any special benefits in changing your name in Singapore. It's a really just a matter of choice. On the IC you're gonna have your married name above your maiden name I think ....

Hi Junehar,

I haven't receive my passport yet, I was told by the Officer that it will take a week or so. Currently the status says Administrative Processing though, hope all is good!

If your interview pass with no missing documents needed, you will probably be fine.

May I know which airline will you be taking?

It would take around 5 working days - please note it is 'working' days and not inclusive of public holiday and weekend for the passport to be ready and sent to you/available for pick up.

Still need to wait for confirmation and visa on hand then I will be relieved.

I am currently having some issues with finding apartments as I noticed that most of the apartments there need credit score and a job. My fiance is unable to include my name in the lease since I am not working in US and he did not use credit card all these time and so the apartment rejected his application for renting apartment. I am hoping not to live in his parents' place

Currently he is trying using his mom and his name to lease apartment, hopefully it will pass through. I will only be able to include my name in lease apartment after getting a job in US, will it be a problem for my AOS to prove joint accounts?

Isn't it possible to check notice boards in grocery stores i.e. Walbaums, asian grocery stores, etc to see if anyone has posted flyers of apartment/room for rent?

What do you mean by joint account? Bank account??

Unfortunately, the crime rate in Atlanta is pretty high, we are concerned about the safety in other apartments that are non gated community. Eventually we would want to move elsewhere. We have been looking around for quite some time but only tried applying this week since I've just got my interview done and found out about the credit score requirements to rent. Aww its unfortunate you guys arent on Long Island, I have a basement apartment (with private entrance) to let

For AOS, the only "proof of relationship" you would need to provide is the marriage certificate. Otherwise, just download and print out all the forms required and then send it all out.

Remember to make sure all forms are the current ones (the govt likes to update their forms. Search for the validity of the forms, generally located on the top right corner). Other items such as the ones you had mentioned, not quite necessary. As long as you're both legally married with the certificate to prove it, it's all good. You will need to get your fiance to put you under his insurance (if possible) after you're married until you are able to look for a job.

I would recommend, once you get here, sort out your SS card first. Bring your passport to the SS administration office and get a temporary one (roughly a week or two to receive it in the mail); this is at the very least you have a SSN. After you're married, bring the original marriage certificate WITH your EAD (if you apply for AP as well in your AOS application, it is the same card as the EAD; somehow they merged it together to be 1 card) to the SS admin office to obtain a new SS card with your married name on it. Your SSN will remain the same.

At the same time, go apply for a marriage license. Then sort out your marriage ceremony/wedding that needs to be taken place within the balance 80 days (I took into assumption the first 10 days you'd prob be jet lagged, getting used to the country and sorting out the SSN)

Once you're married, AOS filed, EAD/AP received, you just need to wait for AOS approval (they said it could take up to 1 year for approval; someone I know received her green card after waiting for 6 months so Im hoping mine is the same case too).

- bring your I-94 (this you can print out when you have arrived at your fiance's)

- Passport

- fill up application form (you can either find it online and print it out or get it from the SS admin office)
