Timeline

Hi, everyone. We received a hard copy of our NOA2 last week and are waiting to get a case number from NVC and then hopefully sent to HCM City pretty fast.

What should/can I (petitioner) do in the meantime to get ready for packet 3? I am constructing an updated timeline, but I am not sure if there is much else I should be putting together in the meantime. Should I get this timeline notorized and if so where? A bank? Unsure since I never got anything notorized before.

I requested tax transcripts from the IRS and filled-out information about my income. Do I need to get a letter from my employer or are my tax records sufficient?

Also, will the HCM City consulate schedule an interview or is that done by the beneficiary? I know each country has their rules.

So excited we are a step closer to being together... but there is still a lot to do!

THANKS EVERYONE!

You dont need to notarize anything. You can do at your bank since it will be free ( if you want to notarize). You should ask for letter of employment that indicates what type of job, salary, full time or part time. One important thing is the signature for all paperworks need to be BLUE PEN INK ( for safety ). You ordered tax transcript which is good, but that is for I-134 ( this is required for package 4) . However, your fiancee will interview in 2014 which means you need tax income 2013 ( not 2012 ) . I guess you can use 2012 and say you did not fill 2013 yet or if you have time to fill 2013 then fill it and send to your fiancee.

At this point, you can fill DS 2001 but they ask for your case number on that form too. I guess you can fill the information you have then fill the case number later. Your fiancee needs to have 2 visa photo and photo copy of her passport for package 3. Please ask her to take 10 visa photo for later usage. Tell her to save her visa photo in USB and send it to you. DS-160 needs to fill electronically. I heard many people have problem with this form, and I dont know your fiancee can fill this form or not. It is better that you can fill for her, but you need her visa photo to upload to DS-160 form. You need to print many copies of DS-160 confirmation with bar code when you done.

I would not fill out DS-160 until you have a case number. Again, the Embassy will schedule the interview date.
