So im just finalizing my I-129F papers and ive come to a halt regarding the dreaded None or N/A questions, after reading many posts about which is better and how they both have slightly different meanings, some say you shouldnt leave boxes blank at all. I then found some information on the instructions for the I-129F that i overlooked previously where it states;

''Answer all questions fully and accurately. if an item is not applicable or the answer is none, leave the space blank''

Straight from the USCIS form that expires in 2016, should i go with leaving the boxes blank as i am told to or do i fill the boxes to the best of my ability as a lot of VJ posters have stated to do so?

My fiance and I left those boxes blank, we did not get any RFE, and we were approved in 38 days. Good luck.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea to leave a blank space as it could be construed as an accidental 'missed' answer. Also, don't mix up 'None' and 'N/A' as they don't mean the same thing and many people get confused between them.

There's that smell again...

The instructions you quoted are for the most recent form edition that just came out recently. Follow the current form instructions > "if an item is not applicable or the answer is none, leave the space blank.''

With that latest form you just leave the space blank if the answer is none or not applicable. Just be careful with Part 3 question 2. That cannot be left blank .You must tick the applicable box. When I filled out the I-129f form I left it purposely blank . We ended up getting an RFE for that one and delayed our approval for about 3 weeks. Good luck.

Older versions of applications said to not leave boxes blank so you are reading something no longer applicable. The newer forms that have the barcodes say to leave blank as the others pointed out is okay.

Follow the instructions for the I-129F, leave them BLANK. This is a new I-129F form some may be answering from when they complete the old I-129F.

Sorry to bring this back to life but my fiance has made a good point about how following the instructions on the I-129F is fine however for the G-325A form there are no instructions and its a slightly older form than the newer I-129F going by expiration dates so should we leave the G-325A with blanks also keeping it in tune with the main form or should we fill that one out in the old style e.g.. with N/As and Nones?

Many thanks

Many thanks

The G-325A states, "if none, so state" for certain corresponding sections. Only put "None" in the blanks that state "if none, so state". For instance, my fiance doesn't have a middle name, but I didn't put "None" in that blank as his middle name isn't "None". We didn't get an RFE for leaving appropriate blanks, blank that didn't state otherwise.
