Hi,

Yes, i have to fill out and send them back a paper once i'm done gathering all documents requested, looks like instructions are the same as here. :-)

Up to now everyting was very fast and instructions very clear. And i have almous everyting ready, except income tax return, wich i have to wait and i still don't know how long it will take, maybe 2 weeks top.

Anyway, you've been very helpful, and thank you so much for your reply.

Almost done dancin5hr.gif

Thanks again

What you could eventually do is start to fill the form online but not submit it. What I mean is you can save your progress online, you just keep all the informations needed to access it and when you are about to receive the lacking documents you submit it. At least, you can get ready and look up for answers here if you are having troubles filling the DS-160.

I am pretty sure you will have to submit your form in a specific amount of time if you go for that road.

Or you could just wait for everything you are missing goofy.gif

Hi and welcome smile.png

We did fill out ds-160 before having all the paperwork ready. I don't think it really matters. Did your embassy send you a form (paper or online) to fill out once you are ready for the interview ?

Basically the way it works for France is that we have to fill the DS-160 (whenever we want and print your confirmation page), gather all the papers asked and once you are done you send back to the embassy a form of readiness so they know they can schedule your interview.

Anyway ! We filled ours before receiving packet 3 and no problem at all smile.png Just need your embassy case number to fill it out.

Hope that helps ! You can also read the page of your embassy on the website : http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Romania&cty=Bucharest

Looks like your equivalence for our readiness form in France will be your confirmation page of the DS-160 and the passport informations.

Good luck ! You are almost done with the K1 process that is really exciting

What is packet 3? Sorry... i just keep reading about it, not quite sure its the interview date?

So after the NVC step your case goes to your embassy. They then forward you a packet of all the documents they need (again you can check on your embassy page info : http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Romania&cty=Bucharest )

Packet 3 Contains: Packet 3 from the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest contains the following items:

Instructions for K1 Visa solicitors

Instructions for the Medical
http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare/medical-examination.html

Instructions regarding TNT courier sercive

Intsructions about form I-134 and supporting papers

Information on legal Rights of Immigrants
http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/IMBRA/IMBRA_Romanian.pdf

So basically it looks like you already received it :) Some embassies also send a packet 4 with informations related to the medical screening and the interview date but it seems like yours do not : ball.gif Issues a Packet 4? No (http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Romania&cty=Bucharest)

Hope you understand better ! And I hope I am not wrong in anything I say goofy.gif

The big confusion is that once the process reaches the Embassy stage, different embassies work in different ways and it can get confusing trying to figure out what everything means. For example, some embassies don't even issue Packet 3, let alone 4.

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The ROC journey:

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

01/21/2019 - ROC Approved - there was no interview

The N-400 journey:

02/16/2020 - N-400 application filed online

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

Hmm, now that you mention it, it may not be an expiration thing per se, but I do know there is some sort of time frame. It may be because you fill it out online and it only allows you to go back and access it for 30 days?

Hm it does state that from the time the embassy get your case to the date of your interview the waiting time is about 3-4 months. That's crazy but seems like you are almost done with this ! It should arrive soon. At least I hope it will :) It also looks like the last person with an updated timeline for your country had to wait the same amount of time !

Did you gather all the documents they will ask already ?!
