While was told the same things ,the officer asked me if im in military and wanted to expedite my case, and she also told me that they received many expedite cases from Philippines and are working on it now and should wait to hear from them.

Unfortunately I am not in the military and my fiancé isn't from Philippines. He's from South Korea ... guess we have to carry on and wait. Patience is a virtue.

Hopefully we will be approve soon, just glad that we don't have an RFEs. :)

APROVED!!!! NOA1 Nov 19th This morning I found we were approved and moved to post decision activity...so how long now? whats next guys?

CONGRATS!! ^^

next your petition will be headed to the NVC, there was a backlog but i'm not sure if there still is, so it could take up to 8 weeks for your file to go from the service center to NVC, but hopefully it'll be sooner! me and my fiancé's took about a month to get to the NVC/get case number.

but! it's worth calling the NVC after two weeks to ask if they have received your file yet, and also ask for your case number. you might be lucky and have it done faster :P

it's also time to start collecting your supporting info for the embassy, if you haven't already!

make sure you have your police certificate, LONG birth certificate, addafit of support and supporting docs (tax returns, paystubs, employer letter) but it's best to check your regional forum to get a list of the correct things to collect as every country differs in what they ask for ^^

Just had the very best early Christmas present - our petition has been approved! YAY!

I just got my NOA2 approved yesterday as well. Looks like they might be trying to speed some of this up to give people great news before Christmas. :)

For others - do not be discouraged...it's bound to happen. I was having a few "freak-out" moments after it passed the 1 month of having filed and not received anything, but it seems that NOA2s are being approved at least 1 month after having received NOA1.

Happy Holidays to you all !!

I should of done a temporary change of address and filed in California.....no movement looks like in Tx

I don't think you choose where the petition gets sent to. Everyone sends the packet to a central Texas location, either the Dallas Lockbox or the Lewisville address, and from there it gets sent to either the Texas Service Center or the California Service Center (they used to use Vermont too, but it's currently not processing K1's).

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

11/09/2013 - I-129F Packet mailed to Dallas Lockbox                                                                                         06/22/2015 - AOS packet mailed to Chicago Lockbox

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The N-400 journey:

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

Otter,

For the record, my case was approved on the 19th November and sent to the embassy on the 17th December. NVC informs me that the electronic version of my case is already at the embassy. So.. me so impatient call shoot email to the embassy to request medical examination and interview dates. Still impatient after to hours.. I call the embassy told that my case was approved and sent to them electronically by NVC. AND that I want to celebrate the new year my fiancee here in the united States... The lady on the phone can't resist but had a good laugh and said it is not going to happen cause new is just around the coner. I laugh and said it was a joke. But when can she start medical exam and will be the interview date. She reply that she can start next week and she will email about the information about the interview date.

Then I wish her merry Christmas..

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your case information. Please see below mentioned information on my case K-1 application and please reply back to me about the next steps.

December 6th, 2013 - Mailed application by using USPS 2 day express mailing.

December 9th, 2013 - Application delivered by USPS to Dallas Lockbox.

December 10th, 2013 - Someone from USCIS picked it up.

December 12th, 2013 - Text message and email arrived with application receipt number.

December 13th, 2013 - Status was available online. Stage Initial Review for application - application sent to Texas Services Center for processing.

December 17th, 2013 - Letter arrived in mail with receipt number - NOA1

December 20th, 2013 - Status changed from processing to Alien registration number changed status.

Question: Alien registration number changed status, what does this mean? whats next after this? A lot of people who filed in in late November also stated on this forum that they got their approval. Should I say my approval is also on its way or is it too early. Just so you know my application is at Texas Services Center.

Thank you and I look forward to all of your response.
