Called NVC just a few minutes ago, expecting to hear "case not received, wait 8 weeks....."
to my surprise, the lady I talked to was super nice in replying that our "petition was received today and will be mailed out to Naples embassy, wait 1 week, and be looking for information from the embassy regarding what to do next."

This is the best Monday ever. Mondays are never good.....
Actually now that I think about it, every update we have gotten EXCEPT NOA1 has been on a Monday.
Crazy.....

Is there anyone here that can suggest what to do while waiting?
I have gotten most everything needed for the interview, minus a few minor things, such as extra pictures, and updating our ongoing relationship, which I will be doing within the next week. I am flying to Italy to spend the holidays with my Fiance, so I have to have everything ready before I leave this Friday.

Putting out positive vibes and thoughts into the universe, I hope to see more approvals for NOA2's as well as petitions being received by NVC.

Holy #######!!! Here I was lamenting how I hadn't received a NOA2 yet despite my NOA1 being Nov 5th, and I just received a letter in mail saying that NVC has received and sent out my approved petition as of Dec 9th!!! Woooohoo! That means it is probably reaching Mumbai today! Amazing - my online status as well as the USCIS phone line says my petition is still in initial review with the last update Nov 7th, haha.

Congratulations!! Wow, that is odd re the website status. They are pretty good about keeping updates accurate (in my opinion) anyway.

Seems a lot of California Service Center folks are getting moved along quite smoothly and efficiently. Kudos to those gov employees working to get these apps approved timely and congrats to the NA02 recipients. I called about my expedite request I sent in with the original petition-they didn't even crack it open and see the expedite request. Now the Expedite Request is in and should hear back in 5 days. Anticipating this from the TX Service Center: they wont even look inside my petition and see my supporting documents and all the info they need for the expedite request right there on the first few pages, just behind the cover page that says in big red letters "REQUEST EXPEDITE FOR MILITARY DEPLOYMENT."

Its OK, I have the docs already attached to an email ready to hit send-again....no worries...I just have to laugh at the predictability of a government agency and seemingly inept Texas Service Center that is getting blown out of the water by California by the way!

Lesson Learned...even when one follows directions to the tee....call and follow up!!Unless there's a check to cash they wont look at anything else until they are ready!! Happy Holidays!!!

I disagree ... my file is being processed at CSC and I am still waiting unfortunately. :(

Maybe mines a complicated case since mines a same sex fiancé petition.

Anyways congratulations to those who got their petitions approved. Just waiting ... anxiously waiting. :(
