As far as I know, they won't be able to tell you what the RFE is for over the phone, you'll have to wait for the hardcopy sent via regular mail. Can you have someone check your mailbox and tell you what the RFE is for?

Congratulations to everyone who has received their NOA2 recently. I really hope to hear something this week, and I am getting anxious! unsure.png I see people with similar timelines getting approved and while I feel happy for them, I also feel kind of nervous that I haven't heard anything at all since 11/25/13. I know the best thing I can do is to remain patient, keep myself busy, and just hope to hear something this week. whistling.gif

To all who are waiting NOA2. My husband filed Petition 129 somewhere in March 2012 so after NOA1 we didnt hear anything for a long time and even started to be nervous like all if something wrong and might we did smth wrong. Usually if the file is not complete they notify you that they need additional docs and if they didn't and notified you that they received the file they already looked through if there are all necessary docs there.

Just your file is in the process and you should wait for NOA2. We received NOA2 when we lost our hope even. I remembered that day forever as it was so long waited event for us that I jumped out from my seat and started to kiss my future hubby right in the Internet room among all people around us as we were traveling together (we organized vacation for us to spend together in the 3rd country). I didnt give a ####### that people stares at me like I am crazy....lol. Then I turned to them and said I am sorry we just received NOA2 that we can go on further with our love relationship that we can move that we can have a hope to be together....People smiled and congratulated us.... So look March and October 31! That was the period of waiting. Also I am sure that different Immigration Centers and countries from finances are from matter somehow. Please guys NEVER EVER LOSE your hope to be together. Love is too meaningful and the God will stay with you.

I don't think the beneficiary's country matters all that much. I have seen cases for high-fraud cases get approved quicker than cases for low-fraud cases. I do think that simple cases, which require less background checks, get approved faster. In our case, for example, we're both divorced and we both have children from our previous marriages, so I would think there are extra background checks they need to do.

It does feel like the service centers hit a slump in processing times again. Probably the expedites getting pushed to the top of the piles.

Seems a lot of California Service Center folks are getting moved along quite smoothly and efficiently. Kudos to those gov employees working to get these apps approved timely and congrats to the NA02 recipients. I called about my expedite request I sent in with the original petition-they didn't even crack it open and see the expedite request. Now the Expedite Request is in and should hear back in 5 days. Anticipating this from the TX Service Center: they wont even look inside my petition and see my supporting documents and all the info they need for the expedite request right there on the first few pages, just behind the cover page that says in big red letters "REQUEST EXPEDITE FOR MILITARY DEPLOYMENT."

Its OK, I have the docs already attached to an email ready to hit send-again....no worries...I just have to laugh at the predictability of a government agency and seemingly inept Texas Service Center that is getting blown out of the water by California by the way!

Lesson Learned...even when one follows directions to the tee....call and follow up!!Unless there's a check to cash they wont look at anything else until they are ready!! Happy Holidays!!!

Sigh, I'm really happy for everyone that got their NOA2s already, but I get frustrated seeing how I'm one of only a couple people with a NOA1 in early November that hasn't heard anything back yet - even people with RFEs have already been approved!

And now the "Petitions with NOA1 dates as follows are currently being processed" (November 7th) is already past my date...

Yeah, mine should be completely straightforward too. Maybe our cases were assigned to the same officer who then promptly went on a month long vacation, haha.

I too am happy to see so many getting their NOA2s quickly. Unfortunately that got my hopes up, and our case hasn't been touched since the alien number was changed on November 13th. I'm trying to be patient and stay positive, but when almost all the other case numbers around us have been approved or sent RFEs it's hard not to worry or wonder why our case isn't moving.

It's especially hard because my fiance is in Cuba and has no access to internet or email, and calling cards are expensive so we only get to talk about 15 minutes a day. I visit as much as I can afford, but as you all know airfare's not cheap either :( Then today I just saw that the interviews for the Havana consulate are already booked through April, so that's got me kind of bummed out too. But I know, I just have to keep focusing on the positives and think of the day when we will get to start our life together here :) I don't know what I would do without this forum and all the helpful info and positive thoughts being sent along!

Hoping everyone has good news for the holidays!
