I actually use Kakao Talk application to chat and make free calls to my fiance. Kakao Talk is a messaging system that's very popular in Korea, and it's growing beyond Korea, a lot of people in Asia use it. We also use iMessage and FaceTime too. It's very similar to Line.

My fiancee and I use whatsapp and viber. Whatsapp for texting and viber for phone calls. I have an android and he has an iPhone. Both apps have served us well and they seem to work best using WiFi :) You get good service w 3G too. I just can't wait to be together everyday and no more apps and Skype for communication! That will be paradise <3

Did you sign up for the e-notifications? Maybe call USCIS and inquire if you don't hear anything by the end of this week? I hope your NOA2 is in the mail and you're worrying for nothing!!

Hello all - so interesting to read others experiences.

I had a question - our lawyer filed our I130 on Nov 8 and we got our receipt number Nov 22. Is the receipt (or case) number considered to be the NOA1?? Or just the receipt??

I had also received another comment asking why we hired a lawyer when we could have done it all ourselves - not that I feel the need to defend our choice, but my husband and I both have full time, stressful demanding careers in our respective countries, and decided it was a worthwhile investment to use a reputable immigration lawyer who was familiar with navigating thru the process. The cost to hire the lawyer was not prohibitive for us, and it means that the limited time we get together online and our few visits a year are not used up fussing over filling in forms!!

After 5 years long distance, I am hopeful that the processing times start to improve - it's a bit disheartening to know it will likely be another year before I can relocate to live with my spouse. For a number of reasons, we had no option but to choose Consular Processing.

I'd also be interested to know what other Canadians on here will be going through Vancouver - seems most of the contributors on here are through Montreal??

best of luck to all!

Times are getting tough. My Fiance has just started working with Tulsa Courts (which strictly forbids the use of phone at workplace) and i have just started my own little Tourism Company. So its really hard to talk now since we're both from opposite timezones. I didn't mind waiting years as long as we talked everyday (like we used, even for 10s of hours at times) but now its just hard not being able to talk or anytihng at all.

For communication we use Skype/Whatsapp. It just sucks that both of our work is limiting us to just 20-30 minutes of chatting/calling everyday.
