Did you get anything in the mail about your expedite request? You should've gotten a hard copy and more explanation in that letter.

If not, you should call USCIS call center back and confirm they got your information correctly and specifically ask if the request was approved or not.

Good luck!

I did get a letter confirming my expedite request. It came almost 4 weeks later. However when I did initially request it, they said I should hear a decision within 30 days...fat chance on that.

When the 30 days came up, i called again and they said they would put in a service request and I should hear something within 5 days... Well guys what... Fat chance on hearing anything again!

So i called again and the person on the phone said... The 5 days to hear from is just a suggestion and it may take another 30 days to hear anything about our petition... I was like #######!!!

At that point i was pretty pissed and annoyed as hell. I asked to speak to someone higher up and they transferred me to an immigration officer.

The officer stated that our petition went our for security background check and that since USCIS did not handle that, there was nothing USCIS could do. I said, so now its a waiting game? The person responded...pretty much. I asked how long it possibly may take and the person said, a few weeks to several months!!

Aarrgghh!!!

This sucks cause like i said, while others can start to live their lives together, start a family together... We are friggin stuck in limbo... Both of us not being able to have defimitive plans or timetables on anything about our lives together!

That is ridiculous really! You should call them again and demand an explanation. That is unacceptable.

I was told it takes a week then if nothing, to call back. When I called back I found out they made an error inputting one of my

many details (when you are on the call you need to recite everything even if it's on their screen). One of the idiots there delayed

the expedite request about 2 weeks and was forced to do it again.

What did your hardcopy say? It should give more details as to the next step. Mine said "your case is now being adjudicated" and please wait

up to 45 or was it 60, days for a decision.

Just this past week, i called again and asked to talk to an immigration officer right away. The phone message said it would be a 20-30 min wait and it ended up being an hour and a half wait!!

When i talked to the officer, I pretty said, I got my case expedited and it was approved, that i got a letter confirming that, and I wanna know what's going on now with it. The officer asked if I got a letter from the latest request I did, when the other officer said it was out for background check. I told him I hadn't and that well the letter about my expedite got to me almost 4 weeks later so i am not surprised i haven't gotten a letter yet.

He then stated what the letter said. In general, that my petition went out for security check. He also stated the same thing as the first officer i spoke to who said it could take weeks to several months!

This really sucks that no one has a difinitive

Haven't checked in for a while as with the holidays and such its been nuts. I am really surprised as to how fast everything is moving forward, maybe we are just lucky. Now comes the hiccup as mail stops flowing in China in 2 days because of the New Year celebration. We had hoped she would get her letter from the consulate before then and before I arrive back to enjoy new year with her on Feb 1st. My hope was she would get her interview while I was there (3 weeks this time) and get her visa so she and her daughter could just fly back to the US with me. Now it looks like I will probably be home for a week before she gets approved then its back to China for me, LOL.

I wish everyone luck and while I'm not 100% satisfied (more like 90%) with my attorney I do believe it was money well spent. I will post more on that in the future for those interested.

I would love to have my fiance go to the interview with me - that would be wonderful. I will interview in Paris, so that would make it extra romantic. I still hope something will click in place and he'll be able to join me for that. :)

But you have that trip to look forward to, that sounds great. :)

You can't transfer your case - it's not something done by you. And we can't forget that I-129F petitions are not the only thing they process - they do all sorts of petitions and forms.

VJ timeline has a "consulate received" event...how do we know when the consulate receives our packets from NVC? Since that VJ timeline event is separate from "Packet 3 received", I'd assume there's a notification or way to track it was received by the consulate prior to receiving packet 3?
