Incidents like this occur because we allow agents of the government to run around carrying guns. For the most part this is unnecessary. We have promoted a culture of people who think the way to defend the themselves and their family is to abdicate their authority and use a “lifeline” to phone someone who has a gun.

This necessitates the government empowering its agents to be armed and available to be called.

At the same time, states such as Kalifornia, promote a level of hoplophobia that causes alarm whenever someone is seen with what resembles a firearm. A boy walking down the road with a rifle in Vermont would probably have been asked if he needed a ride. In Kalifornia the result is to shoot him.

More guns and more common occurances of guns in society will calm people's nerves and get over this nonsense and save lives. When seeing people in public with guns is commonplace, the crime rate plummets and nearly no one gets killed by armed police.

At the least we need to isolate the Kalifornication just to Kalifornia and not be so alarmed when things like this happen...it was predictable.

So they didnt trust the Sheriff's departments investigation skills.

And more people with guns in public is a bad idea. That's a shoot out waiting to happen. Everyone is going to pull their gun to be a hero.

People just killing each other when they get into an argument or kill someone else, usually unarmed because they "believe" their life was in danger. 2 million cases a year. 1 in every 13 seconds.
