Is there any way to find out if I still have Vietnamese citizenship?

Hey guys, first time posting so I apologize in advance if anything's wrong

I was naturalized for US citizenship in 2009 as a accompaniment to my mom's naturalization. I have no idea if she has renounced the Vietnamese citizenship in the process and finding out would be my last resort. I am now more than old enough to make my own decision and I am contemplating on taking advantage of the new "Retaining Vietnamese Citizenship" law to reclaim my Vietnamese citizenship while keeping my American one. I do have my birth certificate and everything so I think the process would be simple and quick if I were to do it. However, that would only depend on if my mom has renounced our citizenship. Are there any ways of finding out?

Another thing is my legal dad is still a Vietnamese national living in Vietnam. Would that make it any easier to reclaim my citizenship?

The requirements are quite ambiguous and the Embassy of VN in US does not list any fees online, making it difficult for me to make the decision as I am afraid I would lose all my money if my application was rejected. I remember even reading about how one of the requirement was that I must have foreign citizenship before 2007 which I did not.

Any help is appreciated

Thx

If you vote in an election, and are allowed to vote, then perhaps VN thinks you are a citizen..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I dont know how it works. However, if you do not fill out the paperwork before 1/7/2014 to keep your vietnam citizenship, then you will lose it forever. You can email the embassy to ask for the fee, Washington is the cheaper compared to San Francisco even though they are vietnamese embassy lol.
