Hello All,

This is specific for K-1 applicants for Montreal. I checked the site today and it shows new Packet 3 instructions, and it says to email them instead of sending it by post.

I was being over enthusiastic I guess and already sent Packet 3 by post. The date on the PDF documents says revised Oct 8/2013 but when I checked in Oct 26th this new instruction list wasnt there.

So I am wondering do I email Packet 3 again or just let it be?

Anyone in the same situation?

Thanks

I emailed my packet on Friday, 3 days ago and haven't heard anything yet. (although it was the weekend) Try calling 1 202 485 7600 (press 1 then 0) Ask if they've received it yet. Please let me know too... because I'm a little nervous concerning how long it will take for them to get it.

Just emailed mine in today. All I got was the standard automatic email saying that no more inquiries are going to be done through this email address. I have no idea what to do now. Supposedly they will mail out packet 4, but that's what was supposed to happen with packet 3 and this chaos of change happened. Will we actually email in packet 4, I have no idea.

I emailed the Montreal consulate on Nov 10th, before I actually sent in the emailed packet 3. Today they sent me a canned response. I took my personal info out, but as you can see even though it's all done by email now they still refer to snail mail. Ignore it though, its the same pdf that now says to use email. It took exactly 15 days to get this response. I imagine that it will take that long to get our packet 3 emails and to log them. The part I'm not too sure about is if the packet 4 letters they mail will be case specific or just another, hey go and get the pdf online. I still have yet to get ANY mail since NVC. I got all my case numbers and updates from calling the DOS. I'd rather just find out that it's been logged and then to get the p4 pdf and do everything instantly that day.

They put -

Good day,

Thank you for your email.

We sent the letter Packet 3 to the applicant by mail on (date). This packet contains a list of forms that the applicant has to provide to the Montreal U.S. Consulate in order to continue the process of the visa application.

If you have not received it, you will also find the complete Packet 3 instructions by visiting this link:

K1 Fiancé- Packet 3: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

You must only send the requested items and the signed checklist page by mail to the U.S. Consulate Montreal. You will need to bring the original documents listed on the checklist only on the day of your interview.

Once we receive the requested forms and the checklist, the case will be documentarily qualified and we will send the Packet 4 for instructions regarding the scheduling of the medical examination and the interview appointment.

Apparently, our packet 3 has yet to be logged, which is starting to make me nervous (again). Is it possible something got screwed up along the way? I read through the response again, and it makes me think that maybe I misread this email.

This is the email response that we got from them a few days after sending in Packet 3:

^^ You got that response a few days after? Are you sure about that? It's just an auto-response to anything sent to that address. You should have gotten that 2 seconds after you hit the send button.

My bad haha, I'm pretty sure he got it right afterwards. I didn't send the email, so I wasn't fully paying attention :P
