K-1 Visa Interview...Too long of a wait Montreal, CA

Hey fellow VJs,

We received out Packet 4 from the Montreal Embassy last week and I logged on to the web site to schedule an Interview appointment, just to be surprised that the most recent available dates are in MARCH?!!?!

Why is it that long, and can I contact the Embassy for a more recent date?

When I went to schedule my fiancee's in Nicaragua, when I clicked on K visas it said the end of November, but when I went back and clicked on consular IV and Then chose K visas it had appointments for next week, maybe that's your problem too?

For Montreal - you just have to keep checking (hourly, if possible) to watch for cancelations or newly added dates/times for a closer interview.

I got my Packet 4 e-mail on Sept 26th for 3 weeks there were ZERO dates available. Mid-October I was able to schedule my interview for January 7th and the very next morning I checked again and got November 7th. You just have to keep checking.

Unfortunately there seems to be an influx of applicants all waiting for interviews since the big switch from Vermont to Texas and applications being approved more quickly. I am a March filer with NOA2 in August, but there are also April, May, June and July filers with NOA2s in August - so there are a lot of people all vying for interviews at the same time.
