Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to update and share the current situation for DCF in Monterrey Mexico.

I was helping my family members with the process and everything went well :) yay.

This week they dropped off their documents to start the process of cR1 at the USCIS office in Monterrey Mexico. The consulate is not big on the time residency requirement, as long as you are legally documented to live in Mexico at time of submitting the application, and you have been in the country more than six months once that's met you are good to go.

Another thing is that they asked for a translation of the marriage certificate by a perito traductor (licensed translator) which usually can cost around $100 to $150. Everything else went just as it should.

Cheers everyone

Elizabeth

We were not required to have our translation completed by a certified translator. We did our own translation. We recreated the documents in English, but without the art work.
