Hi all,

Someone told my fiancee that this would be a good place for me to keep informed. She gets most of her info from a big qq group in China, but I'm left out of that one as its not English (or even pinyin) and she doesn't want all the qq girls trying to contact her boy LOL, (jealous girl) so i don't use qq..

so, I'm a US citizen in Michigan, USA... The love of my life is a Chinese national living in Shizhuajiang, about two hours outside of Beijing. I've only been there with her once (though I've been to China many times for work as a shoe designer) but we video chat on Skype every day for hours. I'm a little worried about this being a red flag, also we hv a 15 year age difference, though she's probably more mature than me! Come on I design motorcycle boots for a job, I'm just a big kid.

We just finished getting the last of our paperwork together. Had a bit of an issue with the mail containing her original signatures vanishing between Beijing and Chicago.. but then it showed up at my door a couple days ago. So now Ill fedEX it to lawyer today and hopefully our P1 will be w the government by end of next week.

I've only browsed here today but seems like a good community. I'm glad we found you guys. Hopefully the info here can help us avoid mistakes and help us keep the stress and panic levels down too...

Hi Im quite new to this forum too. I want to say congratulations on first finding the love of your life and secondly for taking the first step of your journey. It's quite an exciting one for me up to now.

Secondly, I skype/yahoo with my fiance every single night, and I've just received my NOA2. He lives in the USA and I have been to see him 3 times this year, he hasn't been here yet as he isn't allowed the time off from work. Saying that he will be visiting England for Christmas and I can't wait!!

I shouldn't imagine that the age difference is a red flag, there are so many relationships I know of that have that kind of age difference not just on here, but in day to day life. I should imagine and don't quote me, it would be more of a red flag if the age difference was the other way around as that is quite unusual but it doesn't mean it never happens. My mum was married to someone 24 years her junior but she wasn't applying for a K1 visa.

Any way good luck with your journey!! The people on here are so friendly and helpful. They have helped me immensely already, even if I've only been on here for a short while up to now.

As you vist China a lot presumably you will be able to get some face time before any interview?

Hi ! Just a query - why to use a lawyer, for your petition filing?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I was going to type the same thing, Darnell. You always beat me to it! :D

Anyways, there's plenty of good advice on here to not need a lawyer, the guides and searching the forums for questions is all I needed to submit the initial filing and AOS recently. I know several people on here who used a lawyer and still got an RFE.

Good luck though! The age difference isn't an issue. Just make sure you document everything correctly. I submitted about 200 pages of Skype chat logs, one day's of chat each month for about a year before the initial submission. I also included skype screenshots from the same days to prove that the logs were correct. Also need to prove that you met in the last 2 years, so I included trip receipts, passport visa stamps, etc. Didn't get an RFE so worked fine for us.
