So having to travel to and from Jamaica on numerous occasion, I realize that tickets are not as reasonable anymore. Spirit no longer flies to Kingston and the only two are currently JetBlue and Caribbean Airlines. Gone are the days when I could take my children home for x-mas for less than $1000 in plane tickets if you buy early. Now, it seems like you still don't get a break, no matter how early you book. Lawd have mercy pon us Jamaicans who still have love ones that we need to visit. I always say, I am only an hour and a half away from Kingston, why we can't tek a boat go dere and be done and over wid it.

Just my rants and rave. Personal opinion

I always fly JetBlue. I flew spirit one year and never flew with them again. Yeap you have to get those tickets waaaaaaaaay in advance and flying during Christmas will always be expensive. I was looking to go for Christmas but I decided to go after the new years.

I sometimes fly into Florida first...I'm also in the DC area...and then catch spirit from Fort Lauderdale, it's so cheap....I just bought a ticket the other day for 90 bucks..also airtran has some good prices..I always buy one ways..seems like it's more manageable and I can basically choose what I want..Kayak search and fly.com is awesome!!!

Yes air-fares are expensive especially at Christmas

cant complain wifey works in the industry, so....I

was very upset when AirJ folded , the best inflight

service I think my only negative were the ones with

no behavior who saw it fit to start dragging down

stuff from the minute blue mountain came into focus,

so I always hopped for first class...Let me say I

would like to promote *FLY JAMAICA* let us support it

to make it grow, started by old AirJ employees & pilots

they so far has only 3 aircrafts & currently looking to

to purchase another, current routes are JFK & Guyana &

Toronto will be added B4 Christmas, fares are in line

with other carriers, they cannot yet be cheaper...so if

U can afford it support them , the uniforms are spiffy

and spirit is high with awesome service, a friend told me.

I have travelled Spirit...never again, and of course would

NEVER travel Caribbean airlines, most of my travels are with

my wifes company of course.
