NOA-2 expiration

Our NOA-2 expires November 30th. We got our packet 3 information at the beginning of the month, but it has taken us a while to 1, realize what it was, and 2, get all of the information put together. It'll all be sent in within the next week or so, but obviously we won't have an interview in time.

Do I have to contact the consulate to have everything extended? If so, how do I/we go about doing that?

Thank you!

I honestly don't think Montreal pays much attention to the date on the NOA2. Many people have asked about the date, and I have yet to hear a story about there being a problem with the date being expired.

Contact to be on the safe side...always better to C.Y.A. then deal with a peon having a bad day down the line...though from what I hear about booking your interviews, you'll be well after expiry time anyway...but if you can't get packet. 3 done before then...send an email.

We're sending in his packet as soon as the police certificate comes in, so it should be this week. But, with the time it takes to process, we won't be ready to schedule an interview until right when our application expires/after it expires, so I suppose I'll email Montreal to be safe.

When I was dealing with Vancouver they said they'd auto extend the petition anyway when I went to book.

(Have to extend - house hasn't sold and I don't want a foreclosure on my credit rating just in case it counts against us in the future or in case we or I move up/back to Canada)

I'm just a firm believer in paper trails and covering your bum in case you do come across someone having a bad day and the whole thing turning into a he said she said party.

Montreal though, you're not going to get an interview before it expires anyway with how backlogged they are. They should add in a disclaimer that the expiry date is just a polite suggestion instead of making everyone panic lol
