my hubby went to his biometric's appointment at NYC Varick St. today.

We sent it our AOS at alost the same time. My status changed to testing and interview.

hang in there. RFEs are so frustrating and we never know when we receive one. Try to submit the evidence as soon as possible because your application is put on hold until the day they receive the evidence. Make sure the evidence you are sending is what they are asking for. You can still call them for clarifications.

Unfortunately, RFEs can be sent anytime even on the day of the interview. Nothing to do about it.

Congratulation! Yes that makes such a sweet Christmas present!

However, it shows from your timeline that you filed in October. Did you do a biometrics walk-in or did you go on the date of the appointment?

58 days is a pretty short time to get your EAD approved. If only it could take the same time for me, then I should get my approval 10 days from now since I am on my 48th day. That sure would be my new year's eve present! lol

I am at home being bored while bills are accruing day after day....

I have been trying to analyze the data that people post on Trackitt.com and it looks like those who:

- have filed their I-765 on October 22, 2013 got their EAD approved on December 17, 2013

- have filed their I-765 on October 25, 2013 got their EAD approved on December 18, 2013.

I also have played with the USCIS case number tracking on https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Portfolio/CaseStatusSearch.do and noticed in many occasions that those who:

- had their EAD card shipped on December 16, 2013, received their card on December 19, 2013, no matter what part of the US they lived in (I tracked the USPS shipment tracking number too!). Hence it seems like the shipment of EAD cards most likely will take 3 days. However, the USCIS tracking does not give you a history of when the I-765 was received once they change the processing status. Nonetheless, I noticed that as I entered A LOT of tracking numbers, I never had found any I-765 status that was filed before October 24, 2013 and was still in "Initial Review". The earliest cases that were still in "Initial Review" status were those with a receipt dated October 24, 2013.

I filed my I-751 on November 1... that is only 8 days away from October 24!

I love playing detective and to be an accountant!

Disclaimer: the USCIS tracking numbers are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! I just took some samples and tried to get as close to the limit between "Initial Review" and "Card Production" as possible...

Yeah I was super surprised when I saw it went to card production today, I was expecting them like some day early next week, hope you will get yours soon. so did you just stop working after your OPT expired?

I went in on the appointment date for the biometrics. I did that once before for my OPT one and my OPT EAD just got denied because they said they did not receive my RFE.

It's so bad to just sitting home doing nothing, I want to start working so bad.

Yes, I am here at our apartment doing nothing. I had to stop working and I also had to stop using my car. My husband gave me a bicycle and a helmet if I need to ride to the convenience store... The good thing however is that my boss is waiting for me to get my EAD card so I can come back to work without any issue.

I am lucky that this inconvenience is happening during this period when it is slow at work. If it was during tax season, I would have probably lost my job.

Well, I try to concentrate on the glass being half full! My husband and I have gone through so much, we can go through a little more!

I don't know how they do it in other states, but in Texas you cannot renew a drivers license online if you are not a citizen. If you are not a citizen or permanent resident, every year you have to go in person to the drivers license office with all your visa documentation to prove that you are authorized to stay in the United States. The expiration date of a newly issued drivers license is the earlier of 1 year or the expiration date of the current visa. My OPT expired on December 12, 2013 and my drivers license expired on that same day as well.

oh I see, Utah changed the law too, I got my Utah license first in 06 and then renew in 08, didn't need anything since I had SSN already. that's sad you can't drive anymore,

In Texas they don't care if you have a SSN or not. I got my SSN two years ago, and yet I had to renew my drivers license twice and each time they asked me for my visa documents in order to determine the date of my drivers license expiration. The Texas drivers license card itself is actually titled "LIMITED TERM DRIVER LICENSE"

Same in California. Luckily my license expired in October and my visa in December so I was able to get a temporary one until January. (Apparently they always have to issue a 3 month one to give you time for you DL card to arrive in the mail). But a week ago intead of reciving the DL card on the mail I got a letter stating that I need current proof of legal status. I hope I can get my EAD by January but probably not since my status has not even change to testing and interview or have any update, so I called yesterday trying to expedite too, but they only gave me a number and did not ask for a reason or anything....
