As my wife sdadams said above, the EAD card is on its way. All we need now is the interview, & we wish the date would come soon!

Well this week is a good week for EAD's! My husband and I just heard our EAD's have gone to card production. So absolutely thrilled, because I have a job waiting for me as soon as I'm able to work, and desperate to get back to work!!

Just an update on our experience - we USCIS received everything on 27 November, and we got our NOA's around 13 Dec. We then received our biometrics appointment letters a few days later, with an appointment date of 2nd January. As I was going to be away then, we decided to try and early walk-in in Boston - actually, I was planning to try an early walk-in regardless, but as it happens I couldn't make the date anyway so really needed to do the walk-in.

We went to the Boston centre first thing on Monday 16th Dec morning - around 8.30/8.45. They were not at all busy, we showed our appointment letters and explained that we were both leaving the US the next day and so were hoping to do the appointments early. The guy on the desk asked his supervisor who waved us through, and we were in and out in 15mins. As others have said here and elsewhere, I really think it totally depends on how busy they are, and lucky for us they were quiet!!

Who knows if it made a difference to the timeframe, but the good news is we weren't slowed up by being away for the scheduled date.

Just got my EAD in hand, i'm going to apply for my SSN on monday. I wonder what should I bring to show them?

- EAD card

- Proof of age & identity (such as passport, birth certificate, us driver license, any of those)

- Marriage certificate if you changed your name after marriage

Congrats to everyone who got their EAD. I still waiting for mine but since my interview will be in a month, Im suddenly patient and I can only think about the big day.

Quick question, do they stamp the passport with I-551 ? Can I ask for a stamp even though Its no emergency. How long does it take to get the Green card?

My case appears to be progressing after the RFE. Does anyone know how long a case sits in the "testing and interview" prior to the interview being scheduled? It probably varies between offices but I'm not working so tracking this is sort of my full-time job right now ;)

I don't know but I think I will ask for the I-551 if I get approve on the spot, just in case... I think the green card takes about 10 days to arrive after approval.
