I got approved on the spot today!!! I can't tell you how happy I am right now.

My experience:

Our appointment was at 2.30, we arrived at 2.10 and were taken straight through to the waiting room. 2 minutes after we sat down the IO came out and asked my husband (US Citizen) to follow her, he in answering questions for 20minutes before I was called in (at this point I was so nervous). She asked me to swear in then said she was going to ask me some formal questions from my files then she was going to ask me the questions she asked my husband to make sure we got the same answers. She asked me my name, DOB etc then the questions of the I-485, then onto the questions she'd asked my husband.

She asked when/how we met, all the trips to see each other after that (dates). Then questions about each others families, have we met them, what are their names. Then questions about when we got engaged, who proposed, when we got married, who attended. Then questions about Christmas and New Years and who we spent it with. She also asked what my husband did for a living, the hours he works and what his favorite food is.

I answered all the questions correctly. Before she asked me the questions she asked did I have my EAD card yet and I told her it was approved but I hadn't received it yet, he then replied "you'll have your green card before that" so this set me as ease immediately.

After the questions she started talking to us about the weather (it was snowing pretty heavy), and other general chat, it was really relaxed.

I give her the extra evidence I brought and she made copies. This consisted of:

Photo Album - With 70 pics

Car Insurance

Joint bank account

Flights we took together

Cards addressed to us both

She then stamped my case Approved and give me a letter stating I am now a Permanent Resident of the USA :)

She also stamped my passport with a temporary stamp stating I have a green card approved.

I am so happy and relieved, I hope this helps you guys.

Thanks for all your good luck messages and I hope your case runs as smooth.

Good luck!!

Woo! We just received text and emails that my husband (WinstonsDad on here) has his EAD card is on its way, and none too soon!

This makes me a tiny bit more patient towards USCIS as we wait, wait, wait, for our interview.

Question: Does this mean we've made it through without getting an RFE?

Congrats on the EAD update, hopefully you get your interview date soon.

It looks like you are not going to get any RFE's before your interview, I've seen some people post that they got an RFE after the interview for some extra evidence or missing documentation but as long as you guys bring everything to your interview you should be fine.

It depends on your local office and the back log they have so it differs for everyone, I would look at people filing at the same office as you and their time lines to get an idea of how long is generally takes.

You can search your office on here to see peoples timelines for that office.

Good luck.
