Both the DS-260 has to be completed online and the IV package sent (not to mention the AOS package) before a case complete can occur. NVC needs those three things.

Got our case number and invoice number today!! They told me I couldn't update the emails yet but to call back on Friday. Weird? Oh my gosh I'm so excited I don't know where to start!

Congrats! I'd suggest calling back later tonight to see if you can add email addresses. If not, call again tomorrow.

By the way, November is over ;) December thread is here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/468369-nvc-filers-december-2013/

Does anybody hear anything from NVC recently? My petition got approved in Nov 25, 2013. And until this second, we haven't received a letter from NVC that they accepted my petition. :(

I'm from Indonesia (the beneficiary), and my husband is a USC.

USCIS

06/04/2011: Got married in Surabaya, Indonesia

03/10/2013: (Some time at these dates) Filed I-130 through a lawyer

03/25/2013: Priority date, NOA1

11/08/2013: Case was transferred to Texas Service Center

11/16/2013: Case update: "was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office."

11/25/2013: NOA2. Post Decision Activity: APPROVED (by Texas Service Center)

12/05/2013: Received NOA2 in the mail.

12/19/2013: "Shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing."

NVC

01/03/2014: NVC received our case work.

03/26/2014: Called NVC and they said that there's an error on the affidavit support and they didn't get copy of my passport. This case, I blame our lawyer.

You're not going to get anything from NVC saying they received your petition. You need to call to find this out.

And November is over, come to the December thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/468369-nvc-filers-december-2013/

Yes, exactly, you used the latest form, which is correct. So what they' re saying makes no sense. What is called a Tier 2 at USCIS is called a supervisor at NVC. When you call, just request to be transferred to a supervisor.

The supervisor reviewed the AOS package and he corrected the checklist. I did use a correct I-864 form. So, AOS is all set.

I sent all the civil documents (including the marriage certificate) in a separate package and the operator told me that I didn't send the marriage certificate and I need to send that.

How can they lose the marriage certificate ;(

I have asked the Tier 1 to have supervisor review the package again. Hopefully, they will find it in the package. NVC is awful. I cannot stop worrying about my original marriage certificate ;(

Everyone moves to the current month. This isn't like I-130 filer threads where you stick with the same thread. We're different ;)

Our I-130 was approved on Dec 10th. Today we got this e-mail saying the application has been shipped to the Dept of State. Anyone know why they didn't say NVC, or does it mean the same thing? Thanks and good luck with all your applications.

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity On December 13, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. .......

Yes, if they don't have any email addresses on file, then they'll send snail mail packages, but this can take weeks to receive, which means spending much more time than necessary in NVC.
