You should only be using IE. It's the only browser that the site's designed for (as with most government sites).

Call NVC tomorrow and inquire. I'm guessing that since you didn't do payments online, then they have to mail the bar-coded cover sheets to you, which can take weeks to receive.

so i called NVC and the lady said they are waiting for the AOS and IV packages to be sent in to them. I told her, we dont have the cover sheets..do we send the AOS and IV documents without a cover sheet? She says, oh in that case ill put in a request for it to be emailed to you.

oh and she said because we mailed in the two payments, we cant view the receipt or document cover sheet online.

congratulations...it took your case almost tow months to be completed ?or you received a checklist ? because as i understand the approximate time for this is 30 business days

Thanks! Actually it took me 4 months because I had two checklists. They say 30 bd but most of the time they take less than 20 bd. I think these days they're slower at reviewing the checklists response. So good luck!

I just called NVC, regarding the checklist that everyone seem to be getting and was wondering if I should just make the correction and re-sent mine again. I told her that I followed the instruction, #3 on How to Fill out Form I-864. I read this to her....#3 "Answer all questions fully and accurately. If an item is not applicable or the answer is "none"leave the space blank". She apologized and said the direction giving to them and the instruction is not the same. According to her instruction, we have to put N/A. She suggested that I send an email to NVCInquiry@state.gov subject : PI Supervisor, and ask the same question in writing so that hopefully they can update/ correct the instruction giving to the reviewers at NVC. She was very nice and just as frustrated with this as we are, so lets all email the supervisor and help them to help us. Please ensure you follow the instruction in how to email NVC. Thanks

I emailed on 11/21/13 and I received a respond on 11/29/13, see below:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the

immigrant visa petition: XXXXXXXX filed by XXXXXXX on behalf

of XXXXXXXXXX.

Please enter N/A (not applicable) in any area that does not apply.

We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days

for us to review your documents.

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning

this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of

contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees

and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and

documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration

process.

Hey guys! Does anyone know if I can e-sign the DS-260 on behalf of my husband (beneficiary)?

I recently found we had to do this after already sending the NVC the outdated DS-230 form headbonk.gif

I am the petitioner.

Yes, you can; a lot of petitioners do this.

hey guys,

as usual i got another question. My husband, the petitioner, he has never filed taxes first he is 20 years old 2nd he worked in brazil since he was 18 he earned very little like less than 500 dollars a month we didnt think that they would want taxes from that.. anyways now he works in the US for the last 10 months and we got a joint sponsor he supposely earns good money since his home is worth almost 1 million (5 years ago at least)... will my husband not having any tax transcript from the last 3 years like the NVC asks for will that be a problem? how do we solve it?

I have asked the moderators to move your question to its own topic so you can get answers and you don't get lost in the shuffle so hang on okay.

Yesterday I was finally told that my Case was Completed, just waiting for the email to confirm it. Finally!!! :-)

Your husbans would write a letter of explanation why he wasn't qualified to file taxes.

And as long as your co-sponsor makes over the guidleine it will be fine. His house valued 5 years ago I guarantee you thats not the case now. Unless he is using assest to qulify doesn't matter. He would have to get it appraised and that paperwork submitted also. But you have a co-sponsor so no need for that.

Resolved:

1. Write letter of explanation

2. Co-sponsor fills out I-864, has letter if employment, up to date yesar to date paystubd and 3 year tax returns (Only most current is required to send in).

Hi Guys,

I need three suggestions on filing I864. The scenario is that my wife was a student for the last three years and had no income and so she was not required to file in tax returns. I am submitting a letter stating this and therefore reason why she was not required to file in tax information. We also have a joint sponsor who is well qualified and will file a separate I864.

Keeping this in mind how should we fill in these two questions:

Q1. Part 6 question 4 - I have checked the box "Unemployed since" but what should we put in the date to be comfortable - she has never worked before ( i am thinking to enter 01 Jan 2010 to cover three years) but she has been permanent resident of US since (01 Dec 2010).

Q2. Part 6 question 13 - Federal Tax return information - I have left this box unchecked since she has never filed tax return. But could this result in a checklist that we forgot to include vital information? Your thoughts?

Q3. Part 8 - Where it says "Print Sponsor's Name" - Can we type it in or we have to write it with ink or ball pen with hand? (Sorry for being so ####### but i want to avoid checklist)

Anyone else ready for their interview? :/ How long does it take in general for MVC to find out interview date?

Well interview scheduling for january started yesterday. So maybe your country will be doing it next week.

Keep eye on inbox and call on monday see if they started or if they are done.

It takes as long as it takes according to slots and how many casefiles there are. You get slotted according to your pkace in the queue.
