Another thing I just thought of asking. Once case has been completed at NVC, do they then send the documents to the embassy right away, or does NVC first wait to be given a interview date before sending file to the embassy? what is the procedure- and is there a way then to find out if the embassy already have received the documents?

Thank you.

First they wait to get the dates from embassy.. Once they got the date than they send your package to embassy.. That's what NVC representor told me when I called.. NVC then inform you about the date of interview.. If you call to find out u will get to know otherwise u probably get the email late like after a week when interview date got assigned..

Hello everyone I just have a question our case was transfered to NVC last Nov 8 . And nvc and we requested for expedite, we still dont have a case number from nvc and nvc informed us that US Embassy manila is reviewing our request and the asked us to provide 2 foreign phone numbers. My question is, what if our request will be granted does it mean that we will bypass nvc stage and deal directly with the embassy in manila? What about the ds-260 form and the fees.?I appreciate all the information that we can get.thank you

Yes, if the expedite is granted, then NVC ships your case out, by-passing that stage. The embassy/consulate will tell you what to do in relation to fees and forms.

Another thing I just thought of asking. Thank you.

No, they don't send documents right away. They only ship out the case once an interview date has been assigned. And yes, you can find out if the package has been received by calling up DOS.

dwheels76, its our lawyer who is slowing our NVC process. We submitted DS-260 November 21 and yesterday I sent them email what will I do with my PCC and 2x2 picture. That's the only time they told me to send it to their office. They have all our original documents. I always have to send them email for inquiries instead of sending us email to inform we need to send them this and that. Wish we could have a refund of our money if we continue NVC process on our own and dump them.

I am so sorry dear. Just horrible. The more i read these awful stories of lawyers the more determined I am to complete law school and be the best immigration attorney in the world. No way would I treat my clients who really should be treated like family. It'sobvious these lawyers never had to go through the process.

hang in there dear.

According to NVC operators: 30 business days once they receive the package.

Saylin, i need your help please.

So here is the scenario:

My AOS and IV bills were invoiced on the 7th of November. I really wanted to make the payments online BUT my lawyer insisted we mail in the payments instead. Although i was not happy with snail mail but i just went ahead and did as he said. Im not sure exactly when he mailed it in..but it appeared as "PAID" online on the 13th of November.

Now here comes the issue:

We still havent received a hard copy of the two receipts in the mail. Nor does it allow me to view the receipt online. The "Payment Receipts" link at the bottom left corner of the page and the "Receipt" link at the top right corner..they dont work for me. Nothing happens when i click. it doesnt even let me click on them. Is it because i made the payments thru the mail? Why is the hardy copy receipts taking this long to come in the mail? I cant even send in the AOS and IV package without the receipts.

What should i do?

Thank you so much Saylin. You help is always appreciated. :-)

You don't include the receipts in the packages. Those are for your own records. You just need the bar-coded cover sheets. It's called 'Document Cover Sheet' on the payment portal.

Well, you should. You need to click on one of the bills first. Then there will be 4 buttons below the details. One of them is to print the document cover sheet. You can see my screenshot here: http://s128.photobucket.com/user/smurf47/media/Immigration/Payment%20portal%20screenshots/AOSreceiptscreenshot.jpg.html?sort=6&o=2
