I called NVC and I got a completely bewildered agent asking me how you could fill it before we send it. I realized it was better to say Happy Thanksgiving and hang up. oops8rh.gif

Maybe she's thinking of the old paper form DS-3032 laughing.gif She's not as up to date as you ;)

I figured out pissing someone who is already annoyed of working at 5 pm on Thanksgiving wednesday isn't a great idea. I didn't receive any emails so far. Do people get some emails before they fill the DS-261?

Yes. an email with a PDF file telling you to fill out the DS-261.

Still haven't recieved a case number from the NVC...extremely frustrated! Got NOA-2 on November 13, still nothing! How much longer should I wait guys?

Have you read the wiki guide? read it again, carefully. It describes what you should do in detail. Between waiting and calling them every day (twice a day) there's not much you can do than to patiently wait for it to arrive.

if the IV Fee is paid, what's stopping you from filling out the DS-260 ?

oh - you mention the DS-261 . Sure, you can wait , for the AOS FEE BILL to hit the petitioner's email inbox, but

in order for that to happen,

one of you must actually call on The Glory Day, into NVC, and get the Casefile Number and the Invoice Identification Number, giving over the two email addresses on you two.

Get that done, have The Glory Day at NVC? Get the DS-261 done that day and pay a fee bill wink.png

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Those doing EP:

Just wanted to mention that NVC does send out an auto e-mail receipt as soon as you submit your AOS & Ds260 documents through EP. They also send another e-mail when your documents have been uploaded into their systems for review. The NVC rep on the phone said the 30 day review period starts once your documents have been uploaded in their systems, not from the day you send them.

I received the case number, IIN, BIN, and gave my wife's email and verified my email all today. The case number was generated only today I suppose since it wasn't available yday. I logged in few hours later after I got the case number and then got the error message. Then called NVC and got the lady who told I need to wait for them to send, well an email I suppose.

How come your timeline says you haven't even got your NOA2 yet?

When is he planning on moving exactly? If he can move before the NVC process starts, you may have a good chance then of having it scheduled in Bangladesh. If he moves before the I-130 petition is approved, then contact USCIS as soon as he's moved back and update them on the address change. Then, when the case makes it to NVC, make sure you confirm with someone that they have the correct address on file. Hopefully, that way, the case number will be issued correctly. If it's not, you'll have to contact someone at NVC, likely with proof of his residence in Bangladesh and request that the case number be changed.

Ok, I will call NVC after I receive an approval. Hope it does not delay my case. Thanks so much!

I received by NOA2 on Nov 14th. I have called NVC yesterday and today and whenever i provide them the receipt number (the EAC#) they tell me its not showing up in the system and i should try in about 8 weeks from when the notice was issued.

Should i worry if its not showing up in their system at all? or just keep calling back since its been over 10 days now?

If they haven't received it, then of course it won't show up in their system.

Hello everyone I just have a question our case was transfered to NVC last Nov 8 . And nvc and we requested for expedite, we still dont have a case number from nvc and nvc informed us that US Embassy manila is reviewing our request and the asked us to provide 2 foreign phone numbers. My question is, what if our request will be granted does it mean that we will bypass nvc stage and deal directly with the embassy in manila? What about the ds-260 form and the fees.?I appreciate all the information that we can get.thank you

Another thing I just thought of asking. Once case has been completed at NVC, do they then send the documents to the embassy right away, or does NVC first wait to be given a interview date before sending file to the embassy? what is the procedure- and is there a way then to find out if the embassy already have received the documents?

Thank you.
