Ok I finally read everything.. Couple quick questions..

1. Documents.. Do they need to be apostle? Do they need to be issued in past 90 days? (Sorry if I missed this somewhere in the posts)

2. Do I need to read Oct and Sept NVC threads to get caught up?

Finished for now!!

For the forum I-864, part 3. If I check the first option then I dont have to enter the family members ?.. and for part 5, since my friend is sponsoring me, does she include the number of my household members in my house or just me? and what documents would she need to submit with the affidavit of support?

Guys I am awaiting for my case to be transferred to the NVC

Would the USCIS website show an update of when they actually mail out the papers to the NVC?

Right now I have this:

On November 13, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Good to hear! And yes, definitely call again next week to confirm. The operators' answers vary wildly at times, so best to be prudent and check.

Called again today. The police report is not an issue. But, found out some not so good news.

They reviewed my AOS-

i need to resubmit my I-864 because something wasn't in black ink. Thinking back, my printer was running out of black ink at the time.

I need to resubmit my stepmother's I-864A because one field wasn't filled in as N/A.

I am once again so angry and upset. I can't believe this stupid mistake costs us an extra month!

No USCIS is done with you. You get the approved form I-797C in mail nothing more. To find out if your case is at NVC after about a week after approval call NVC. REad post #1 and #2 of this thread get familiar with what is going to happen next. Good luck.

Beginning October I sent my AOS package, and last week they told me that I need to fill out a new I-184ez out, because I left part 3 blank where it asks for residence address IF DIFFERENT than mailing address. Well, since the address is the same I didn't fill it out, so anyhow I filled out new I-184 form out and mailed it right away last week, so my question is am I going to wait now again up to 30 days because of this or is going to go little faster this time???? Anybody had this happen to them???

I got a checklist for the same thing on November 8th which was a Friday. So I filled the form out again and overnighted it back on Saturday, but the following Monday was a holiday - so they didn't receive my new form until Tuesday November 12th. I did the same thing and am kicking myself now knowing that is going to delay us some. I thought it was a bit ridiculous since it says IF DIFFERENT. I've read through this and seen that this has happened to several of us. Anyone that asks me for help now, I am constantly saying...don't leave anything blank! So back to the waiting game. When did you resubmit?

When did you resubmit?

My stepmother filled out the I-864A and there is a section that says the same thing "IF DIFFERENT" and of course she left it blank and that was part of my checklist. I guess it's not just for the I-864EZ

NVC needs to make things like this explicit!

If you don't mind, what field in i-864A wasn't filled as N/A.

I am pretty sure it was the Place of Residence (if different from mailing address)

They said it will be 10 - 20 days. Been calling almost every other day since NVC received our files October 22 but still no luck. Hope I will be lucky next week to get our case number.

This is what I am talking about, how do you know when the NVC actually receives your file?

I got my NOA-2 in the mail just now..so now I should start calling the NVC?

No USCIS is done with you. You get the approved form I-797C in mail nothing more. To find out if your case is at NVC after about a week after approval call NVC. REad post #1 and #2 of this thread get familiar with what is going to happen next. Good luck.

I got the I-797C notice in the mail just now. I have read around the forum, that the USCIS actually updates on the website, when they actually mail out your file to the NVC, maybe I just misinterpreted something? How else would I know that the NVC has recieved my file? Thank You so much for your help!

Call NVC when they ask for case number, you say USCIS receipt number and then they can tell if they received the file

last time I checked, if different means IF DIFFERENT. Goodness.

So one should write N/A if the address is same?

you will have to call NVC and inquire. (I'd suggest calling a week after NOA-2 approval). And after the week mark, calling everyday.

The 797C notice is a generic message.

so they will actually update my status on the USCIS website, stating something like..."we have mailed your visa to the NVC.."

On the letter I got (I-797), it says your petition has been mailed to NVC
