Why are you waiting on NVC? If the bills show as PAID, send in the respective packages. And complete the DS-260. Doesn't matter which order it's done it.

I'd suggest calling up again, yes.

It definitely looks like they reviewed the IV package. The checklist for the AOS package is a false checklist (they just haven't gotten to it yet), so no worries on that part. The police certificate though is the important part as it seems like they missed it.

I called again last night and spoke with a a nicer woman. Like you said, About the AOS, she said that is a false checklist. She said the police certificate was just a reminder to have the police have it sent to the embassy. I told her I had put a certified copy and translation in the packet in addition to it being sent to the embassy by the police. She said that's great but in Israel, the police certificates automatically get sent to the embassy/consulate, and it was just a reminder to do so in case we hadn't done that yet. So really it looks like that was a false checklist. She reassured me that nothing was missing and it is still under review.

PHEW!

Knowing how thorough I am with this process I will probably call one more time on Monday to get a third opinion. I just don't want to be waiting around if they are really missing something.

Good to hear! And yes, definitely call again next week to confirm. The operators' answers vary wildly at times, so best to be prudent and check.

Since they're two different tracks that have nothing to do with one another, then it doesn't matter which is done first.

Yes, the petitioner can fill out the DS-261 on behalf of the beneficiary. Many people do, especially with beneficiaries in countries with unreliable internet, or a language barrier.

Remember, the DS-230 isn't accepted anymore. You have to fill out the DS-260 online. (Although filling out a DS-230 ahead of time is a good idea, so you have most of the answers). For the education question, you start with high school and go up. You skip elementary school.

I don't know about the police certificate. Mine didn't require a picture. All I know is the actual pictures you have to submit have to be taken within the previous 6 months. But, for the PCC, unless it states somewhere on it the date the picture was taken, NVC will have no idea when it was taken.

There's no express checklist line. It's the same wait time as the original package submission.

well it actually does have the date at the bottom of the pic covered mostly by the official stamp they put on it. we are also submitting the recent photographs they ask for that have to be within 6 months...do you think this would be a problem should he redue the police certificate with current pic or should i call nvc and ask them if it will be accepted..thanks for your help :)

I would think it's okay, since they're more focused on the content of the PCC, not on the picture used for it. But, it may be a good idea to call on Monday and ask a few operators and see what they all say. Remember, don't just call once and rely on that one answer. Call a minimum of 3-5 times.

Just checking in as a NVC newbie... I got a lot of reading and studying to do especially with wanting to get as much as possible before thanksgiving and my trip to the wifey from Dec 19 to Jan 5.. We are Bahamas bound smile.png ... Little background NOA1 April 1, 2013 and NOA2 Nov 14, 2013 (with expedite help)... Do not think expedites carry to NVC from what I have read in the past but maybe it will help get it there just a little faster.. Any personal advice any of you have for me is more than welcome. Thanks

P.S. On college football Sat... War Eagle lets beat them dawgs!

quick question guys ... i just got my wife's NOA2 this past friday. Im looking at getting all the stuf ready for the NVC stage. Here is where it gets tricky, last year I was a student and had no income and was depenedent on my parents taxes. This year starting July i have had a job earning above the poverty line ... now when i have to show proof that i can support my wife, should i just send in my parents previous years tax trasncripts and then send in my recent pay stubs and a letter from my employer? or would i need a co sponsor since I recently started my job in July. .

Yup, as with the DS-261, the petitioner can fill out the DS-260 on behalf of the beneficiary for the same reasons as I gave before for the DS-261.

And unless they've changed things, there should be an option to email the barcodes to yourself, so that should work. Otherwise, just log into the payment portal at the internet cafe.

Hi Guys,

It'll be a few weeks minimum for the case number to be assigned. First the case has to be sent by USCIS, then NVC has to receive it, then they'll assign a case number once they get to it. I believe NVC operators are stating 8 weeks right now for this.

For Canada (and NVC), it shouldn't be a problem that you've only been able to qualify since July. Just make sure you send an employment letter and all the pay stubs you have.

Hello all,

I am soo enjoying this forum. I haven't filed yet so not yet apart of either USCIS or NVC...but I'm arming myself with a lot of information from just reading the posts in the many forums. I've even got to love a few people just by seeing their names and appreciating the information they are disseminating. Thank you Salin and your team of VJers for the wealth of information you possess.

You can send just the transcripts, that's fine. We filled out the I-864EZ and that's all we sent. It states elsewhere in the instructions that transcripts are accepted in lieu of tax returns + W2s. Transcripts are actually way more preferable by NVC than tax returns + W2s.

The only time one needs to include W2s with transcripts is if they filed jointly and need to show their own income.

I was in kind of the same situation. I got a similar checklist for my marriage certificate and an annulment certificate and just like your situation, both those documents were in the package. A false checklist would tell you they are simply waiting for the AOS but your checklist also mentioned the passport copy. The specific mention of the passport copy sounds like you might have gotten the "NVC made a mistake" checklist - just like my situation. I would suggest you call the NVC and tell the first phone rep that all your documents were in the package and the checklist specifically mentions that the passport copy is missing. When the first phone rep can't provide you with any help, insist on being transferred to a Supervisor. Sometimes a Supervisor isn't available, so you might have to call back a couple times. Explain the situation to the Supervisor and they should be able to help you. They are going to tell you that it will take another 30 working days (6 weeks) for them to look at your documents again. Just be persistent that this is an NVC error and you feel the unnecessary wait time isn't acceptable. Take note of the Supervisor's name and call back every couple days and ask for the same Supervisor. Contact your US Senator and explain to them that the NVC has made an error processing your case and they want you to wait 6 weeks for them to correct it. Your Senator will contact the NVC and apply pressure, as 30 working days to correct an NVC processing error isn't acceptable.

Thanks for the reply. Checklist is just for the Affidavit of Support. The operator said systems shows they are waiting for Affidavit of Support of passport copy.
