does it have to be joint?

Well, they obviously wouldn't be the petitioner, so those who help out are joint sponsors.

How long is it currently taking from the uscis approval to apear at nvc system. Anyone recently got in touch and received the reply that they got ur file. how long is it taking?

Mine took two weeks to show in NVC system.

I sent my Affidavit of Support and civil documents last month (two different packages delivered the same day to NVC). Today I received a checklist saying my Affidavit of Support form hasn't been received. I called NVC and NVC told me that they are still waiting for copy of the beneficiary's passport and Affidavit of support. When I told her that sent both of these documents to NVC already and still received the checklist, she didn't know about the checklist. She told me that if I am certain that I have sent copy of the passport and Affidavit of Support in those two packages, ignore the checklist then because checklist is generated "automatically" whenever documents are reviewed. She told me that it does show in their system that two different packages were received and only one of the two packages have been reviewed.

My concern is that civil documents package had copy of beneficiary's passport copy which they still show missing. NVC is saying if I sent both documents then ignore the checklist (which only asks for Affidavit of support) till they have done reviewing the second package and don't send anything in.

My question is: Should I still go ahead and send another copy of the Affidavit of Support as asked by the checklist or listen to NVC and ignore the checklist till they are done reviewing the second package?

Should I send copy of passport as they are done reviewing one of the two packages and still show it as missing?

Should I send both again, one, none?

Please help.

I was in kind of the same situation. I got a similar checklist for my marriage certificate and an annulment certificate and just like your situation, both those documents were in the package. A false checklist would tell you they are simply waiting for the AOS but your checklist also mentioned the passport copy. The specific mention of the passport copy sounds like you might have gotten the "NVC made a mistake" checklist - just like my situation. I would suggest you call the NVC and tell the first phone rep that all your documents were in the package and the checklist specifically mentions that the passport copy is missing. When the first phone rep can't provide you with any help, insist on being transferred to a Supervisor. Sometimes a Supervisor isn't available, so you might have to call back a couple times. Explain the situation to the Supervisor and they should be able to help you. They are going to tell you that it will take another 30 working days (6 weeks) for them to look at your documents again. Just be persistent that this is an NVC error and you feel the unnecessary wait time isn't acceptable. Take note of the Supervisor's name and call back every couple days and ask for the same Supervisor. Contact your US Senator and explain to them that the NVC has made an error processing your case and they want you to wait 6 weeks for them to correct it. Your Senator will contact the NVC and apply pressure, as 30 working days to correct an NVC processing error isn't acceptable.

My happiness was short-lived :(

Yesterday someone named Mike (hispanic accent) told us that our case has been completed and now to wait for the interview email. Upon suggestion of members we gave them a call to inquire about the interview since it would be faster.

Now (today), this rude lady tells us our case was never complete and that our DS260 has been reviewed and I need to submit original birth and marriage certificate. If there's anything I know, it means that once they receive the mentioned documents, we again need to wait for another 30 business days for a possible case complete.

This completely sucks. We were already so happy that the journey has finally ended. When submitting IV packages, I did not see any mention of original birth and marriage certificate. Last month our RFE was that the I864EZ did not have a 'N/A' in section 3 (sponsor information). We don't need sponsors and the instruction on the form said to LEAVE IT BLANK.

Another month at the NVC thread.

If this were Twitter, I think these NVC errors would be "trending" at this point.

Did you send certified copies of your marriage certificate and birth certificates? What exactly did you include in your DS-260 package?

I sent all the requested docs. I had certified/notarized copies of birth/marriage certificates along with translations of them and my citizen ship card. I had sent them notarized copy of passport. Original police records. Two photos.

Wouldn't it be cheaper for the NVC to request the originals at the time of the interview?

Why they did not tell you on your first checklist.. About original birth certificate and marriage certificate .. This is totally unfair..

Cause they are checklists for two different applications I guess.

There are certain required documents for which you can submit certified copies, if they are from the "issuing authority".

Unfortunately, it looks like a birth certificate must be an original. According to the NVC instructions, the birth certificate must be, "an original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in your country of birth, showing your date of birth, place of birth, and parentage Important Notice: All Immigrant Visa applicants must submit a long form original birth certificate. Short form birth certificates will not be accepted."

The marriage certificate can be a certified copy though, according to these NVC instructions - "If you are married, you must obtain an original marriage certificate, or a certified copy, bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority."

Why are you waiting on NVC? If the bills show as PAID, send in the respective packages. And complete the DS-260. Doesn't matter which order it's done it.

Having a lawyer really slow down our NVC process. AOS and IV are already on paid status and my husband sent them an email last Friday to inquire if he need to send all the documents to them or send it directly to NVC. No reply at all crying.gif . They promised to send me an outline of DS-260 to review..... been 2 weeks now and still have not heared from them. huh2.gif But, they are very quick to send an email about their professional Fee. They are paid in full. They got the fee but they are not Professionals at all.dry.png

Why not get on your CEAC site, login and do the DS-260 yourself? It's probably there?
