Sounds like you got a 221(g) for missing or incomplete documents and once you submit them they can ajudicate the visa if they are satisfied. It is very common for name checks to not have the visa issued immediately since all persons must endure AR which usually last a few weeks to months in Casa.

All applicants must provide police certificates and proof of marriage eligibility when they go to the embassy this is not new.

Get the documents together and submit them as soon as you can. RULE ONE is never to book your flight until you have your visa in hand and hope that you can change your flight so that you may not incur any financial losses.

Good luck.

Mary

What did the papers look like? i would think it is a 221g which is for Administrative Processing/Administravtive Review. Alot of people in the middle eastern countries have to go through this process after there interview. It when they send your file to Washington DC ( in the USA) to go through more security background checks. Which usually takes an additional 1-6 months. If i were you i would post this in the Foreign Embassy Forum and ask someone who has gone through Morocco. I have seen alot of people going through Morocco get a 221g slip after there interview. I believe it is a green slip. If i were you i would not plan a trip next week until the Embassy contacts you once the Admin. Proc is completed. I am sure someone else will add to this. And the 2 papers that she asked you for are papers that you might not have submitted in your packet 3 which they ask for on the checklist in the packet. Don't worry my fiance also had to submit this paper it is called a police certificate which shoes them you have not been in any trouble since the age of 16 until now. and the other paper you are refering to is so that they know you are free to marry which they should have already had in your original K-1 approved petition packet. Don't worry yourself too much everything will be ok. I wish you all the best.

I too went through a 221-G last year. If it is the police report and a certificate of being single they are looking for which is what it sounds like, if it is for the beneficiary it will likely be decided at the embassy. If the police check is for the applicant, which should have been done before the file was sent to the embassy then it would come back to the USA.

Did they keep your passport? My guess is they did and will issue the visa soon after they get the papers they need. A week may be cutting it close. I think it will not take months though. Ours took about 3 weeks to streighten out but I had to submit data 3 different times.

12/14/2006 Applied for K-1 with request for Waver for Multiple filings within 2 years.
Waiting - Waiting - Waiting
3/6 Called NVC file sent to Washington for "Administrative Review" Told to call back every few weeks. 7/6 Called NVC, A/R is finished, case on way to Moscow. YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7/13 On Friday the 13th we see updated Moscow website with our interview on 9/11 (Hope we are not supersticious) 9/11 Visa Approved. Yahoo.
10/12 Tickets for her to America. I am flying to JFK to meet her there. 12/15/07 We are married. One year and a day after filling original K-1
12/27 Filed for AOS, EAD & AP 1/3 Received all three NOA-1's 1/22 Biometrics 2/27 EAD & AP received 4/12 Interview
5/19/08 RFE for physical that she should not have needed. 5/28 New physical ($ 250.00 wasted) 6/23 Green Card received

It's always a risky venture to purchase airline tickets before the interview. We bought tickets before the interview and ended up paying the penalties to rebook the flights.

Maybe I can shed some light to your situation. I was also told that Casablanca has started a new process with the court required document. I believe its called a Sidi Ali. Not sure if I spelled it right. If you turned in all your paper work then wait a few days, they will call you. No worries. You should not have booked your flight until you had visa on hand, so just pray that you get it before your flight.

Agree you should ask this question in the Foreign Embassy forum, or the Regional forum for N. Africa.

Agree it is unwise to purchase plane tickets before the visa is in your hand!

It may help (check with others who are going through Casablanca) for your USC fiancee to contact the consulate to inquire about the status, ask if there's anything she can do, just express an interest in what's going on...

Best wishes!

Maya

Many thanks to the Visajourney community for all the help!

I turned in my paperwork (the Sidi Ali and the other paper), and was told they would call in a few days. When I go back, do you know if I will be issued the visa that day, or will I have to wait?
