Hey fellow V-Jodomizers,

I just got back a few days ago. But now is the first time i can really sit down and write. We had a really awesome time. I met her parents..... and the first day was awful. They treated me like a stray dog. I did everything to try to please them. I washed the dishes, helped count the money from the dads business, and i even moved a 600 lb. ancient printer/ copier with 3 other thai guys from the house to the back of a pickup truck. No big deal. But not only did i not get a thanks, but her dad didnt even acknowledge that i helped. Then it was lunch time. The wonderful cuisine was a delightful pig stomach soup and a plate of grass and leaves that left me in the bathroom for an hour and a half. I really was hating life. Then i guess after i showed them that i could put up with all of that, they started to somewhat take a liking to me. They then ordered pizza for dinner.... I was so excited, i could have done a backflip. Later that evening Pailin, me, and her parents had a nice 4 hour talk. Although her parents speak no english, my fiancee, Pailin, is a certified translator, and she was lightning quick too. Her parents had alot to ask about me. Even about things that i wasnt too comfortable to talk about, like my parents divorce. But i answered everything they asked... After that night the parents started smiling to me when i tried to speak thai to them. They started to accept me.

We had about 180 people show up at our thai wedding ceremony. It was huge. Truly one of the best days of my life.

Immigrations when we got to Seattle Int Airport was not too bad. It took about an hour, most of it was waiting in line. The only thing they asked my fiancee was "do you have any kids?" ... and they asked her that 3 times in a row. Other than that, it was a breeze. So for those frettin about having a traditional ceremony in the foreign country on a K-1, dont worry about it. As long as you dont sign anything, your ok.

We have our legal US wedding on Monday. Nothing spectacular, just me, her and a few of my friends. We are gonna have a reception at my moms house on the 26th, and all my friends and relatives will be there. Just something casual, with lots of alcohol.

Thanks for reading my ridiculously long post. Good luck to all on the journey,

`Matt

Hahaahah in the beginning here I thought you were being scrastic.. About a good time with then telling us how they treated you.. but with all the bad info out there about how "Americans" are..I'm sure they thought you where going to be a pain..

But it looks like you broke the ice just fine... there is a saying...When in Rome do as the Romans do...

I'm glad I didn't have that trouble.. We hit it off right away.. and I asked for Veronica's hand in marriage in romanian after a crash course from Veronica..

They did serve some food I ate..but couldn't look at it..hahahhaha their zuma(chicken soup) had the chicken rib cage in my bowl.. :help: I'm use the Campbell's but of course the Zuma(sp?) was alot better.....

Well good job.... and Good Luck with the rest of your journey
