Japan Police Certificate

1.5 months since filing for police clearance and yet Japan embassy still doesn't have it? That's too bad. Lots of luck on your upcoming interview. Maybe the USEM will just ask you to submit the clearance once you get it.

yups i know right! feels like 3 years! anyways i got my interview today and its all good except for this japan police certificate. i got 221g and as soon as i get my police certificate, i will immediately mail it along with my passport using 2Go courier to USEM smile.png i was just thinking, what if i will just directly give it to USEM once i get it instead of using a courier? 2Go will just take more days for it to be delivered to USEM anyway..right? idea9dv.gif

no0pb.gif

A wealth of bad advice.

i know right, i'm about to reply to him/her but i can't see his/her post anymore. if he/she wants to be illegal then just keep it to herself, no need to include us on his/her shameful act duh

Shouldn't it have been a ban on all the forums? Just curious. Thanks.

  • 2 weeks later...

Last October 7, 2013, i went to Japan Embassy Manila to request for my Japan Police Certificate since like you, i've lived in Japan for almost 3 years as well. Based on my experience, when the japanese lady in the window called me, i just told her that i will request for police clearance then she gave me instructions to go to Camp Crame to get my finger prints done. She didn't asked me for any letter from the US Embassy. But just in case, bring your photocopy of your NOA1 or any documents that will prove you are currently applying for K-1 Visa. You should have your 1x1 or 2x2 photo for your finger prints. So now, i am still waiting for it. they said it will be 2-3 months til you get your police clearance but a lot here says that its just 1 month to 1 1/2 month.

Hi friend, have you received your police clearance yet?

Hi friend, have you received your police clearance yet?

Day 62: no Japanese police clearance yet mad.gif geez. the lady in Jap. Embassy said that they receive documents from japan every tuesday and thursday. This is really getting annoying. They said it is usually just 45-60 days processing only. :/

I think that means it was mailed from Japan on November 7 and took about a month to get here and through postal processing.

But anyway, good for you and hoping mine gets here soon!

I've been calling the English direct line number of the Japan Embassy in Manila but no one picks up the phone or someone picks up but doesn't say anything and all I hear is background office noise!

Did you have the same experience?

I called up the Japan embassy using the number you gave. It worked! Thanks! Unfortunately, my police clearance is still not there. The lady on the other end of the phone line was very nice and helpful though.
