Salam all, (F)

I was just wondering if there is a lot of Arabs, Muslims, or people who are connected to their culture in the Dallas Forth Worth area.

Maybe we can meet on a weekend, do an activity, or start even an organization of people who has to deal with the USICS. lol :D

Any thoughts?

I don;t live there now but I grew up there and we are trying to relocate. I know that both Richardson and Plano have huge muslim communities, the mosque in Richardson is very large and seems to have a lot of activities. I know my husband is really excited for us to move there so he can find more of 'his' people :P

Wasalaam Alaikum.

Yes, there is quite a large Muslim community in the Dallas Fort Worth area. I live in Dallas myself and attend the mosque here in Richardson when I can. There are many activities and the Dallas Central mosque, I will be starting classes there next week...halaqa for qu'ran is on Friday's 7-8 pm.

The Muslim community here is very good, there are many from all over the world, including Morocco. Your idea of meeting/creating a local organization for dealing with the USCIS is exactly what I needed when I started out this process.

You are in the Dallas area Maghreb? It would be good to meet others from VJ who live in this area, I am friends with 2 others who also live in this area.

I would definitely be interested! It would be good to have fellow 'sisters' from VJ to be with as well. My time is pretty tight right now, I am leaving for Morocco in just over two weeks. I have a lot to do, I am helping a family member with a web site, have tons of shopping to do and will need to put in a lot more hours in the office before I can leave...wow time is really short! I will not be back in Dallas until April 12th. I would love to meet though...let me know what is decided and I can squeeze it in my schedule if it is before I leave for Morocco.

Count me in! I'm in the Dallas area too. I like to get together with others in my same shoes. However, my husband is one who really doesn't want to connect with other Moroccans just because they are Moroccan.

Salam

well I am not surprised, as a lot of Moroccans feel the same way. Just because someone told them so, or something bad happened to someone because he was hanging out with the wrong people from the B'lad(the country). Just remember united we stand, devided we fall....

I respect his opinion, even if it does not make sense to me.I am a Moroccan my self, and I know there are bad things about the Moroccan and Arabic mentality in general, as there are really good things. It all depands how do u look at it......For instance there are a lot of nice things that Moroccans here in the states did, go check out:

You are more than welcome to join us, maybe we can be able to pull out something soon.

Peace out :star:
