Hi all!

So I got hold of the NVC (FINALLY!) and found out that my interview is on January 10th, less than a month away!!! So, I have a few questions:

1) We never received notice in the mail that our case was completed in September. Now, they say it takes 2 to 4 weeks to get the interview letter/required paperwork...what happens if I don't get this on time?! Can I show up to the interview without the letter? Can I get them to e-mail it to me?

2) Since I want to prepare, is there a list of required documents somewhere so that I can start compiling them?

3) I had the medical for K-3 in May. Do I have to do another one for the I-130 interview?

4) I REALLY need to know how long I can expect to be at the consulate because I would love to go home right after the interview but the latest flight out is at 1:40 p.m. Is there a snowball's chance in hell that I could POSSIBLY make that flight after the interview? I really really don'wanna fly home on thursday morning and go to work grrr

5) They kept my original police certificate after the K-3 Interview so all I have are copies...is this good enough? Or do I have to get another one?

OMG it's almost over!!!

I think police document and medical are good for 6 months. I remember i read a post of someone who didnt have papers for the interview but just went to the interview and he had no problems. his name was on the list there. but you should double check this.

It usually take 1 hour maybe little longer. but your embassy might be different.

First of all congratulations on the interview!!

If the letter dosent arrive by the time you think you should have it then you must contact the Embassy/Consulate as you will need the letter to be allowed into the Embassy/Consulate!!

Medicals are good for a year, you can use the same medical for your CR1 that you used for your K3 , I Did!!........the only difference with a K3, vs CR1 is for CR1 you have to of had all the required vaccinations!!

Police certificate, you will need the original!.....................why after your K3 didnt you keep the original & the embassy/consulate keep the copy, thats what i did at my K3, so i was able to use it at my CR1 interview!

Good luck with the interview

Well, the thing is that they kept the ORIGINAL of my police certificate at the K3 interview. Maybe it was a mistake on their part, but I don't have the original anymore :( Do I need to get another one or is a copy good enough?

I thought it was 6 months for the medical, not one year...are you sure?

Thanks!

You will need a new police certificate!!

I know for SURE the medical for London is a year maybe not for all countries, you might want to ask in the canadian forum!!

The embassy/consulate want to see all original + 1 copy, they keep the copy, so they will more than likely want to see an original police certificate BUT try emailing them & explain they kept your original when you interviewed for your K3 but you still have a copy, & could you use it!!
