I always try to let people know, if you don't register to vote, you can't be called for jury duty. Just saying….

I just remembered too that I have received several Jury Summonses over the years prior to becoming a citizen, but was always able to check the box in the back that states Not a US Citizen and send it back. So the voter registration is certainly not the Only thing that gets one in the system.. My best guess is that DMV has something to do with that as well..

Poked around the net a bit. You're right, looks like some states use voter registration, some the DMV, and some both.

Got my US passport today. End of the journey, but still have to get the naturalization certificate back. Got the SSN updated last month, got the new card with the new name, thus went to DMV and got a new DL due to the name change. Also registered to vote.

Thanks all for the kind help.

GM,

Just a silly thought process, how come my online status hasn't changed currently from "Testing and Interview" to "Decision can't be made" or “Request for more evidence" what so not?

As far as I remember IO asked me to update USCIS immediately IF I move out, should I assume what he meant that I should be getting such notification by a MAIL rather than online status update ?

Regards

Give it a few days - they probably will just update it to Oath Scheduling Que. After my interview even though I was approved, it took more than a week for the update to read "Oath Scheduling Que". Don't panic... Patience.. You will be fine. :)

Chillax.. It's only been 7 days from your interview. Even with an approval at my interview, it took 9 days to get to Oath Scheduling Que for me. I know it's tough to wait and be in limbo.. Or you can call and speak with Tier 2 officer and ask a question from them: "has my application been approved. If not, when will I know?"

I can understand your frustration, I have been in queue for an Oath since 03/17 almost two months, a couple of weeks ago when I call USCIS, the costumer service person that talked to me started a service request on my behalf, meanwhile I have also contacted the USCIS ombudsman and apparently they have also sent a request to my local office inquiring about my case. So far no response yet and I have to take a job overseas on July 1st.

I would suggest writing a letter, sent via UPS or FedEx, to your local field office. I did this when Sol was stuck in the oath ceremony queue, They no only telephoned the day they got the letter, they also provided me their email address, which I subsequently used and got a reply the day after I emailed it.

Field office locator is here: http://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

Your field office is Chicago, right?

101 West Congress Parkway Chicago, IL 60605

You can probably derive their email address from the one I have for the Pittsburgh field office for N400s:

pit.n400@uscis.dhs.gov

I guess it would be:

chi.n400@uscis.dhs.gov

Best,

Jon
